I'm getting better from image to image to not forget to add a sufficient Alt-Text.

I selected "Always" cause it's definitely the goal I'll reach.

Good Alt-Text is, even for me as a sighted person, a very useful enhancement.

@AlinaLeonova I try to but I don't always. I've ended up often deleting pictures or whole toots because I'm not happy with the alt text, or it's taking 10 minutes to write and rewrite and one finger typing on a phone with my massive hands is horrible. On the plus side I waste less time on mastodon now, as does everyone else who benefits from me not taking up space on their timeline.

From time to time it’s broken on iPhone (buttons to save are not reachable), then I don’t.

When boosting posts, alt-text being present helps. I don't exclude all posts without AT from boosting, but quite a few.

To balance out: sometimes I present an #Alt4you in a reply. So I also look in the replys before boosting (or before suggesting AT)

Sometimes. If I'm posting a reply meme or gif in an existing conversation, or a post that isn't meant to be seen by many people i typically don't add alt text to those

More a situational type of question: if I'm posting from my laptop, then I strive to always add alt-text. If I'm posting from my phone, then it's significantly less so.

It’s the experience of being on Mastodon heavily for the last two years that has actually gotten me to be rigorous about my alt text

for two decades of blogging I didn’t do it anywhere near frequently enough

but since alt text was strongly recommended as the norm here on mastodon, I began doing it every single time …

… and it has bled over into all activity online: with all my blogging and newsletter posts I now always do alt text

I suspect the people interested enough to answer are also going to be the people who care enough to add alt-text.
