@pixelfed The hit areas for the “Like” “Share” and “Comment” buttons feel tiny on mobile and hard to press.

I agree with the comments about the UI feeling like a microblogging platform like Tumblr rather than a photo sharing one. If Pixelfed’s main purpose is to share photos, then I’d suggest removing the padding around images and turning off the “fixed height media previews” setting by default. Let the photos take up all the space available to them - that’s what we came to see

@pixelfed I really like the new profile view! The masonry and timeline views are brilliant. It looks so tidy, and the user’s posts really take centre stage.

In the grid view, I was pleasantly surprised to see video thumbnails auto-play. Is there any way to turn this off though for people with cognitive disabilities who would prefer not to have moving elements on the page?

@pixelfed I like this new UI set because it looks elegant and simple. However, when I toggled the display of images in the user's profile, I noticed that the effect of the second of these buttons was that the number of likes was no longer displayed on the image.

@pixelfed This UI update is nice but posts in feed look like they are from a Facebook-like app and don't fit Pixelfed's concept. That should be updated to look more like the old UI with polishes in my opinion.

I started a Korean translation job, but the string in the UI doesn't show up as a string in Crowdin and I can't find where the translation was applied.
Should I stop the translation task?

@pixelfed I was originally attracted because it felt like you were emulating the simpler, more community-oriented early IG, which I missed.

This seems more utilitarian and a bit cluttered (particularly the table of attributes - I don't want the device to be displayed, and I feel the current UI better integrates the other attributes more subtly without having to label each one).

@pixelfed how will you display thumbnails for posts with multiple images?

At the moment, they have a large “image gallery” icon in the corner of the thumbnail. I find the icon looks quite large and dominating on mobile compared to the other UI elements on the page and would love to see it made smaller.

I prefer circular profile photos, and I also like the square grid. It’s neatly aligned, works well on mobile, and most importantly, it gives equal weight to each photo.

@pixelfed I'm not sure sure if feedback it still requested on profiles. If it is, I wanted to mention that there seems to be a big difference between the appearance of the profile to logged in users versus people who are not logged in.

(Also the non logged in version doesn't seem to respect line breaks so several lines in my profile are run together).

@pixelfed Is Pixelfed still unusable in Safari's private mode? That should be a priority to work on IMO. Browsing in private mode is the only way of hiding a bit from all the surveillance that's going on out there.
