@pixelfed At what point did PixelFed become Facebook? :ohno:

pixelfed

@t3rr0rz0n3 Nothing has changed, our main focus is photo sharing!

We have several photo sharing features in development, and have implemented new settings that allow users to disable features like groups, stories and text-only posts.

@t3rr0rz0n3 Sorry that you feel that way, your feedback is important to us. Can you let us know what we can do to improve?

(I don't mean to sound robotic, we really do care and want to do what we can to make our community happy)

@pixelfed I think PixelFed should focus on providing a good UI for managing photos and stories. To publish text alone I already have mastodon or another federated network. But of course, this is just my opinion :)

pixelfed

@t3rr0rz0n3 Agreed!

We don't plan on supporting text-only post creation, and are considering removing the opt-in setting that includes text-only posts in your home timeline.

(Keep in mind, we will still support text-only group posts, but those will never appear in your timelines!)

@pixelfed @t3rr0rz0n3 i actually dont mind pixelfed becoming more facebook like. There isn't a good facebook alt. Frendica ui is terrible 😰

@pixelfed If you squint your eyes a little bit, it looks like an older version of Facebook. Photo-sharing webapps nowadays look like on the attached screenshots.

@mgrzeca We support polls and videos too, and how many of those platforms are really that social compared to us?

Do any of them allow you to view or post a comment from the feed?

Do they only show the first photo in an album and require you to go to the post to view all photos or videos?

Mariusz K. Grzeca

@pixelfed Aside from VSCO, which was designed to be an anti-social social network, they are all just as social as Pixelfed. Tookapic is an example of a small community that got so close on the platform that it organized joint photo meetings in various places around the world.

@pixelfed Very nice looking! 👌

I notice that text in post and below pictures are cut in the middle of words when it reach the end of the line (instead of in between words as usual). I guess that's a little bug :)

@pixelfed
Looks very promising! Excited for years to use pixelfed, but I prefer to use it on mobile, so I'm waiting for an App release.
Have you considered to be on liberapay/patreon/gofundme in order to collect money to let you hire a mobile app developer to speed things up?
