@pixelfed I really like it! It's the nicest looking UI of 🤩 any social media I think the main issues I've found are the resizing. On mobile, when looking at a profile, there seem to be large gaps on the sides and so the rows of 3 images look smaller compared to insta and the current pixelfed UI. Also, some weird issue with text not resizing when looking it the home timeline when my phone is in landscape mode. @pixelfed Also, bring back the original dark mode. It looks sooo good when using the dark reader add-on on the website. It complements the white theme much better imo. The current pitch black dark mode doesn't look as good and will be harder to view when using the app on a bright sunny day. @pixelfed I am sorry that each of my comments is negative and I can give the impression of being a cranky hater. In my opinion, the design of the user interface should first of all make the interaction with the content easier and more enjoyable. Changing the UI should take into account the type of content presented and the way users interact with this content. @pixelfed @pixelfed Some issues I see: - iPad portrait breaks the layout (squeezed elements, incorrect wrapping, etc). @milan In the latest commits, it's enabled by default https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/commit/469d49d832c750cf2e7259a0d92f354b95233ff4 Navigate to /i/web on your instance, eg: pixelfed[.]social/i/web @pixelfed personally I kind of miss some aspects of the old one. This new broad format really benefits for widescreen pictures but not tall phone pictures for example with the old metro UI I liked that there could be different formats and that things can be big. small tall phone pictures with black boarders don't looks so good. It's much nicer scrolling the feed with the different formats as well. I love the rest though Maek it mor gud.... Just kidding! (and poking fun of the internet design pundits) It looks great! 💕 @pixelfed i think it needs to be easier to click into a photo to see it enlarged, currently I need to open its menu or click on its timestamp (which are two quite small objects...). @pixelfed On longer posts, I'm seeing text wrapped by character instead of by word in Chrome on Ubuntu. Chrome on Android wraps the text for the same post correctly, though. @pixelfed in the new UI, I can't find the Search box (it used to be under "discover")... @pixelfed hey, minor bug in new UI: words get broken when wrapping to new lines. @pixelfed Is it possible to go back from a single post view to the last visited place on the page? Let me explain: I scroll through my global feed. There, I see a post from a user that is interesting. Then I click on the username to see the profile of this user. When I go back from there, it takes me to the global feed, but on the very top of the page. This is annoying, so I have to scroll down the whole feed again. Would be very nice, if I can go back, just to the place where I was before. @pixelfed The hit areas for the “Like” “Share” and “Comment” buttons feel tiny on mobile and hard to press. I agree with the comments about the UI feeling like a microblogging platform like Tumblr rather than a photo sharing one. If Pixelfed’s main purpose is to share photos, then I’d suggest removing the padding around images and turning off the “fixed height media previews” setting by default. Let the photos take up all the space available to them - that’s what we came to see @pixelfed I really like the new profile view! The masonry and timeline views are brilliant. It looks so tidy, and the user’s posts really take centre stage. In the grid view, I was pleasantly surprised to see video thumbnails auto-play. Is there any way to turn this off though for people with cognitive disabilities who would prefer not to have moving elements on the page? |
@pixelfed Keep up the great work! :blobcathearts:
I got 2 things :blobcatgiggle:
Auto dark/light feature (based on OS settings) would be awesome if possible!I couldn't find any menu on mobile with the new UI :blobcatgiggle:
