@pixelfed Will the discover feature be accessible for public, or it remains only for instance users?

Asking because I am missing public access, but I also understand that this would need adding some user settings, because not everybody wants to be discoverable.

@pixelfed new version still won't tell you when photos were posted; old one says "Mon Feb 07 2022 · 5:19:53 pm " new one says the dumbed down "3h" and there doesn't seem to be any way of seeing the timestamp

@pixelfed Could you please maybe re-think the way the photos are displayed on the new timeline? Fit them by width, the way it was in the old UI, and not by fixed height. In my timeline I see very few images that fit the new proportions. Vertical images now look very small.

By the way, if there's a carousel of several images in one post, they are not clickable. Images on single image posts are clickable and allow to see a larger version (which is great!)

@pixelfed Noticed in the latest release it is listed that remote avatars download even when S3 is not enabled (super excited to have this!). I can see this is the case for other Pixelfed instances, but not Mastodon and other such instances. Is this currently intended behaviour?

@pixelfed Images now are displayed in a fixed box they need to fit in. This makes vertical images very small. Maybe it would've been better to have a fixed width and adaptive height, like in the previous version of the UI? Literally nothing in my timeline fits the blackbox. Looks a bit weird.

Otherwise the UI has a nice feel to it. Also looks like commenting should work correctly now, which is great.
