@pixelfed I miss the + button in the new layout. It's hidden in the menu. The old ui said: "Go upload a picture!"

@pixelfed
- More edit options for images: blur/pixelate regions, write/draw on image
- option to remove exif data from images
- option to resize image before upload

Let us explain the new experience in detail.

Please, do not disregard JPEG XL!

If you could implement it, it would be awesome!

@tommi JPEG-XL is on our roadmap don't worry!

In order to support HEIC, webp, AVIF, JPEG-XL and other new formats we need to carefully refactor the MediaPipeline and APIs.

Without introducing bugs and/or breaking support for other formats.

And we need to generate a fallback copy in a widely supported format like jpeg/png for older clients.

In a way that doesn't break the web UI, APIs (mobile apps) or federation (other projects).

It's a bit more complicated than adding a mime type to config

@pixelfed

I completely understand! It is a long, complex and itchy process indeed, but I cannot wait since JPEG XL is SO AWESOME!

Speaking of roadmap, did you ever consider making a public one, so that sponsors, admins and users can actively follow Pixelfed’s development process?

@pixelfed Creating a Story doesn't work at all. Picture is gone after taping "Next" on the preview, dropping me back to the main timeline.

@pixelfed - The feature of short clips is similar to Tik Tok and Reels Instagram.

- The presence of the server name next to the username is somewhat distorted, I wish to remove it.

My 2 cents fediback:
Possibility to provide a title to the picture ?
Right now the description is below the pic

@pixelfed My typical workflow is to take a raw photo with a real camera, develop and process it in Luminar or Affinity Photo, scale it to generate the target .jpg and finally add the finished photo to Pixelfed. So most of the features don't matter to me, the old way of composing a post was mostly OK. Adding multiple photos was unintuitive and slow, it would be nice if that improved.

@pixelfed when adding more than one photo to a post, the ability to reorder them independently from upload order.

il granchio

@pixelfed edit caption and location after posting is a fundamental feature.
