 @Gargron Over at where I work, at least one of our computers still has W7. (I think there's also one or two W8.1 computers there too.) I really like the new dark mode colors in the iOS app (latest TestFlight build). Have never been much of a fan of #000000 in system apps.

 @Gargron am I missing something? I’m on the recent Mastodon TestFlight but I don’t see true black as an option? Just to confirm, there's no way to get Universal Links on #iOS working with a decentralized platform, right? Seems like it'd require hard-coding all possible domains into the app.

 @Gargron home assistant uses a redirect proxy but otherwise i’m not sure it’s possible https://my.home-assistant.io/faq/   I am feeling absolutely fine but every person I've talked to (incl. social media) is expecting me to feel sick after the second vaccine so if I wasn't gonna feel anything I'm afraid now I might get it psychosomatically

@Gargron congrats. I plan on making wearing a mask in public a part of permanent habit.  Before my first shot I started developing a sweat and a sense of fever half an hour before I even got the shot, haha
Are there any Siri Shortcuts you wish there were in the iOS app? Like presumably "New post" is one. Anything else?

 @Gargron There seems to be a GTA 5 game mod, or something, that seems to make HTTP requests directly to mastodon.social, with insane frequency. Intentional or not, it's basically a DDoS. The requests used to come with HTTP referrer "nui-game-internal" but I just found they switched their user agent to mask as a browser.

@Gargron It's cold in Brazil and Brazilians don't stop complaining about it. That's why.  I added a newsletter form to the original blog post about the Mastodon #iOS app 👀 https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2021/02/developing-an-official-ios-app-for-mastodon/ Oh no, I'm going to have to create a whole new website for the app and then put the form there, won't I... 😩  It is quite encouraging to look through the TestFlight feedback even though it's all bugs it's good that we're finding them now @Gargron any particular style or template do you want us to use from the app?  Do you know how the Ubuntu Terminal app is really smart about what text to select when you double-click? Is there a way to get that behaviour on #MacOS?

  Mac terminal simply selects the "word" on which you double click, exactly the same as regular native text fields do. The blin cat was a perfect image but now people are just using a photoshopped variant that removes all mystery from the cats expression, it’s so disappointing I don't think that new #RickAndMorty episode made me laugh once, the entire time I thought "Oh not this again"

 Thinking about it, maybe I should have created a mailing list for people to be notified when the app gets released all that time ago. Maybe I should still do that now..? I'm not sure how long it's going to be in beta, we're still fixing some bugs.  I was looking for an open-source mailing list server and found listmonk. I guess now I need to design a small form and put it inside the blog post about the iOS app or something...  |
