@Gargron Ooo, a dangerous slippery slope. We run mailman servers for our community, and there's something to be said for letting someone else deal with all the hassles of NOT getting blacklisted, or NOT getting throttled by gmail, or or or. Good luck! I'm just thinking, it would probably be good if when the app launched on the App Store as many people as possible installed it at the same time... Make some headlines, get on Product Hunt, all that jazz. Rare opportunity of a product launch. Right? @Gargron yep! That makes total sense. Depending on when you want to ship 1.0 it’s still summer so low volume on other tech news. I bet the mastodon community will share this into other bubbles as well. @Gargron i mean it'd hype up mastodon once again, i think it needs another hype wave tbh...just like the thing with mastodon suddenly appearing on the nyt and the verge in april 2017 |
@Gargron Not really open-source but take a look at https://buttondown.email/, they seem solid and very transparent about the service. If you only need a one-way communication, it should be more than enough.
