I really like the new dark mode colors in the iOS app (latest TestFlight build). Have never been much of a fan of #000000 in system apps.

@annika I don’t think any current iPhones have AMOLED displays? At least it’s not a keyword I have seen before. OLED is what mine is, I think.

@Gargron @annika then it has the same effect, since it also doesn't need backlight and only expends energy on pixels that aren't pure black.

Eugen, I thought it's the same thing? Just checked the Apple website, it does say "OLED".

@Gargron I like the color too and think pure black is too much of a contrast. But the OLED/energy saving is a thing. In other apps you can switch between pure black and „dark“ – could that be an option?

@Gargron I too prefer dark over pure black in apps. IMO Github is doing it right by separating the dark high contrast one with the dimmed one.

Pure white on pure black is awful when you have even mild astigmatism.
