Early release on a beta channel to gain feedback.

Feature complete can take some time, so it's more targeted towards non-technical people. Perhaps helpful to shoot for a regular cadence (once a quarter?).

This allows for experiments but also has a period of stabilization

I would recommend Direct APK download for early android. TestPilot for early iOS. Release both in-store on time.

@pixelfed First of all: I'm new to pixelfed (/Pixeldroid App) but... I really love it! 😍 Great work! 👍

But, there is one thing: For me it would be very important to get the possibility to "mute" posts from other networks... I use pixelfed for search/post photography related stuff. To me it's a little bit boring to see, for example, mastodon posts. Because... for that, I have my mastodon account.

But it's only my opinion... ;-)

@pixelfed Idea: When a text is pressed for a long time, it is read aloud. For images, videos or audios, the respective image, video or audio description would be read out.

@pixelfed Awesome initiative. Do you really mean screen reader accessibility here? For me as a screen reader user sharing, interpreting or otherwise working with images is difficult if not impossible, so I am curious what is achievable, what does pixelfed do except of sharing images and similar. Has anyone requested accessibility related improvements?

@pixelfed i think if server rules are defined then the generic/predefined categories aren't necessary

basically the report reason should take you directly to the server rule list and have one additional option at the end "it's something else", with checkboxes

@pixelfed It makes a big difference, for me personally at least. When I see the first screen (blank), I instantly think "something's broken with the app", definitely not "my connection is slow." Well done!

@pixelfed will this also work for accounts you don't follow yet? Missing pictures is in my opinion the most annoying thing about federation. Also not seeing likes and reshares from other instances.

@pixelfed Looks great! I think the contrast of the pagination at the right top could be improved. Does it also fade out after a few seconds of no touch gestures? Also the Public switch feels a little bit too big. The dropdowm icon next to it could be a bit darker. Can't wait to try it out!

Android on Chrome OS can't get through to you. Have tried from Fedilab, Indigenous and tooot. Pixeldroid from F-Droid is listed as incompatible. Not a biggie, just missing out on a nice-to-have option. Do let me know if you need any user details or specs.

@pixelfed little feature request: Instagram Always loads your profile images. The device aching on your own profile must be minute to hours. Please cache your profile images for longer, so we don't waste data downloading them multiple times and they can be shown offline.
