 You may have noticed pixelfed.social is slower than usual, after some investigation, I have discovered that Lemmy is behind the sudden surge in traffic. While we are implementing Groups, we expected additional load from Lemmy and other Group supported projects However, I never anticipated how much activity we'd get from Lemmy To put this in perspective, lemmy.world has sent more activities to us than mastodon.social (to pixelfed.social) I'm overhauling the inbox again to better handle this!

Just shipped (long awaited) support for album embeds! You can now embed album/carousel posts, and profile embeds now include album/carousel posts 😎 Special thanks to @andypiper for reminding me to fix this.  I really appreciate all the kind words of support, sometimes it feels like I only see negative feedback and while I usually take that in good stride and strive to resolve the underlying issues... I am only human, and sometimes that negative feedback stings more than usual Rather than letting it get to my head, publicly acknowledging this, and my struggles, are my therapy Your encouragement means the world to me and keeps me motivated!  I had a pretty rough day and contemplated just giving up on @pixelfed because it seems like I can’t catch a break But after calming down, I started to remember all the big milestones and the people who believe in our platform and in me I’m not ready to give up, in fact this was the kick in the ass I needed to get my priorities straight and focus on shipping the app ASAP and also Groups I’m a few months behind on my NLnet Groups milestone and need the money so that’s my focus after the app ❤️

   Experimenting with a "Made with AI" badge for servers that allow AI generated content if properly labelled. We're also working on a setting to hide Made with AI posts on feeds, so you can better curate your experience!

 @dansup does this also apply to images crafted by hand but using AI in their design / creative process? What if an artist creates parts on an image with AI but refines the rest by hand? I guess the latter feels more like deserving this flag as the former does. Then again you might want to also track works where AI played any part at all  @dansup Anyway, nice idea. (I think that "High Coherence Media Generator" is a better name) ✨ Did you know about our Portfolio feature? Portfolios showcase and organize your photography or artwork in a professional and visually appealing manner. Curate your favourite posts and present them as a cohesive collection on your own micro site, with or without links to your profile. ⚡ And yes, you can even customize the background and text colours
