@pfefferle I certainly don't trust Meta to have the best interests of the public in mind, and in light of recent events, I'm not sure I trust Automattic either.
I don't know if I can trust @swf with those two companies as major supporters.

@pfefferle
A little less conversation, a little more action, please
All this aggravation ain't satisfactioning me
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark
Close your mouth and open up your heart and, baby, satisfy me
Satisfy me, baby

We just released version 2.6.0 of the #ActivityPub plugin for #WordPress

You can now (finally) add/edit/delete the extra fields, we improved the remote-reply overlay quite a bit and made a lot of smaller tweaks and fixes.

Let us know if you have some feedback!

@pfefferle

Thanks for your continued work and development of this tool.

Hi @pfefferle
re: "fediverse:creator" - it seems to default to the AP author, OK. But as I've implemented it manually, pointing to my Mastodon profile, I might get conflicts sooner or later...
<meta property="fediverse:creator" name="fediverse:creator" content="cybeardjm@www.didiermary.fr" />
vs
<meta name="fediverse:creator" content="cybeardjm@masto.ai" />

@pfefferle I can't find the Extra Fields section on my blogs, how do I add them?

Matthias Pfefferle

Is there any documentation on the #Mastodon webhooks system? Maybe it is already possible to integrate a simple #Akismet filter!!!?

propapanda :verified:

@pfefferle I like this idea.

Unfortunately status.created only triggers on local posts, which is good if you want to process your instance's posts, but you cannot filter incoming posts for spam.

@pfefferle Hay don't know who's that Mullen, but it looks like you're quoting yourself, in joy that wordpress has somehow enable the link with the fediverse (excluding the other-blue-shit). How so ? True question I'm not aware of such stuff (I'm out of web design/admin/dev), thanks for any links.

Eri

@pfefferle and tumblr still doesn’t federate...

Bø!rge

@pfefferle Loving that WP is integrated now! But is anything happening with Tumblr?

#followerpower #fediverse

what do we have to do to make the #ActivityPub plugin attractive to more #WordPress users? We are currently at 4000+ active users on WordPress.org + the WordPress.com users.

@pfefferle All the deficiencies in the plugin I noticed one year ago have either been addressed or are in progress. It's been an incredible year!

That means the important deficiencies remaining are in the Fediverse itself, not the plugin. In particular, reply approval policies (FEP-5624) and thread consistency. These are the reasons I would hesitate to advise WP users to make the jump today. So this is what I'd like to see in 2024. More visible support for the people pushing for solutions. More of the hard work of herding AP cats towards a consensus and an implementation.

I bet you'd rather be coding 😜

@pfefferle enabling by default would be ideal imo, albeit maybe not the most realistic

@pfefferle Will it become possible to pass text formatting from a WP post to a Mastodon feed?

WERNERPRISE° — Thomas Werner

@pfefferle

👍 Very nice/sehr schön!
Ich glaube, ich sollte mein Blog auch mal föderieren. So langsam gibt’s keine Entschuldigung mehr 😀

Matthias Pfefferle

@pfefferle @mattwiebe I am wondering about how it will work on Wordpress, as far as I know, you cannot just delete the ActivityPub without a proper remove like tootctl self-destruct command to not leave cache on another server and if you did forget, it would do a funky thing especially if you use the same domain.

So I wonder if the Wordpres plug-in already thinks about this problem and if it is safe to install and uninstall the plug-in without any problem.

Thank you in advance for your reply

Michal Špondr

@pfefferle @mattwiebe Thank you for your work!
Is there any running example of Wordpress with ActivityPub plugin enabled so I can test how it works from user point of view?

Steffen Voß

@pfefferle @mattwiebe Sehr cool!

dansup

@pfefferle @pfefferle.wordpress.com Hello too! 👋

Also congrats Matthias, you've single-handedly brought the fediverse to millions, I hope you appreciate that, because I sure as heck do!

The #indieweb and #fediverse are so lucky to have you ❤️

@pfefferle I haven't looked into kbin yet, but would it be possible to display the upvotes on WordPress? Are they similar or even the same as favorites elsewhere?

Carlos Solís

@pfefferle So, are you getting comments from the Kbin thread directly in your Wordpress comments?

Matthias Pfefferle

Thanks to the quick help of @dansup comments on Pixelfed are now federated to WordPress (again). And thanks to @mediaformat they will be signature verified soon! github.com/Automattic/wordpres
