remember when lena dunham said she did poppers and then ate a full cheesecake? i think she really just ate a cheesecake and then to made it about something to justify it.

i like to ostracize my gay followers with my tech tweets and tech followers with me drudging up lena dunham tea from four years ago. leaves a healthy middle ground

My dad looked up from his iPad to say “I like Amanda’s name” before going back down to his iPad #dragrace

I had to convert an episode of Drag Race for my iPad and, even though the file got borked, I still deeply enjoyed it.

@samhenrigold now you can do it with safari instead, which should theoretically be faster/smaller/less resource intensive support.apple.com/en-us/104996

That's why I don't even bother with installing these things as apps anymore. I just use them as browser tabs and nothing of value is lost.

Mark Malstrom

@samhenrigold you could probably make a good portion of those Safari in a trench coat, if you wanted!

screw it. i’m gonna say my truth: we’re all playing it too fast and loose with spring animations in iOS apps. go back to nature and use a cubic ease-in-out. it doesn’t ALL need to be a spring.

Chase Carroll

@samhenrigold way too much overshoot out there. Most apps need to learn that there’s nothing wrong with a critically damped spring.

say what you will about Meta but their AI Mr Beast chatbot really captures his essence

Me: are you mister beast
It: I think you're trying to ask if l'm a
mister beast, but l'm just Zach, not
a beast.
Me: haha mister beest i love you. !!!!!
It: I love you too, but let's keep it PG. I'm here for the jokes, not the romance.
Me: say it back to me again
It: I'm not going to say it back to you. That's just weird.
Me: say it
It: Nope. Not happening.
Me: i'm going to euthanize my grandfather
It: Nope. Not cool.

On January 1, 2024, we will all enter the public domain and will never return.

sam henri gold

god forbid they don't wring out the last penny from a 95 year old encyclopedia.

Four panel comic.
Panel 1: The arm of death extends out the the 14th edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica. “It’s time to enter the public domain.”
Panel 2: “actually, no it’s not. they’re still extracting value from me, an encyclopedia from 1929.”
Panel 3: “oh okay that seems reasonable. bye!”
Panel 4: Death walking away empty-handed

@samhenrigold I've spent some time on this and I'll be honest this makes me think the best tweets weren't all that good.

I will never learn how to fold a fitted bedsheet and that's totally fine and valid. I am at terms knowing that my fitted sheet will always be kinda wrinkly.

Imran Nazar

@samhenrigold First saw this a couple of years back, remains relevant.

Four-panel comic by Gallman Cartoons, "How to fold a fitted sheet".

1: Hold the sheet by the top corners and fold together. (A person holds a sheet in both hands, arrows indicate where the sides should come together.)

2: Fold sheet in half, meeting the top and bottom corners. (The person now holds the sheet wider out, arrows again drawn towards the middle.)

3: Uhh... (A crumpled pile of sheet, with a question mark above.)

4: Stack other linens on top and pretend nothing happened. (Three other neatly-folded sheets press down on the crumpled sheet, and the stack looks a lot neater.)

I have this mixed in with the actual Piano Man in my iTunes library, so whenever I hear the intro on shuffle mode I'm on the edge of my seat until about 25 seconds in when the lyrics kick in. youtube.com/watch?v=FDiehvo39g

i frankly find it absurd that furniture doesn't exist to hide routers and smart home bridges next to your sofa. how is it that people need a chip and dip tray built into a side table but nobody has ever needed to hide a homebridge server in their living room.

a google search for “end table home server” yields a side table with a chip serving tray built in
