@samhenrigold I would probably use Chromium if it becomes available on iOS. Back when I had an iPhone (not too long ago, planning on getting one again soon), Safari was so buggy. Or use Firefox if they port over, that would be my first choice. very cool article that is literally just a list of EU member countries and that's it https://www.macrumors.com/2024/01/25/eu-countries-alternative-app-stores-available/ “let your thoughts simmer for fifteen fucking minutes before sharing your stank opinions on EU legislation” challenge (impossible!) @samhenrigold my first thought after I saw the news dropped was “oh it’s gonna take me a long time to get through my timeline“. fun fact: if you go to a movie at dinner time, popcorn and sour patch kids counts as dinner @samhenrigold what if I’m not at a movie, does that still count as dinner having a chill evening (watching the CNN election coverage and thinking about how i would model this election data DB) it’s simple, really: you make a bunch of designs for key-value pairs, you’ll never retire, and then you die. i cracked open a pair of the original apple earbuds out of nostalgia and man it’s just unpleasant. they don’t fit in your ear because why would they — it’s a perfect circle. like you’re not so much piping music into your ears as much as you’re dangling tiny speakers in the vicinity of your ear canal and sometimes you’ll pick up clear music.
[DATA EXPUNGED]
@samhenrigold even back then they fit pretty badly. I remember that I used to wear mine shoved sideways so the speaker would point towards the inner ear (and yes, the stems would dangle straight out, making me look extra silly) but that made them into some form of early noise-isolated earbuds I wanted one of these so bad as a kid solely because of these ads playing on Nick. I’m sure it was a piece of shit but back to school 2010 hit SO different https://youtu.be/lCjPq4U7Vo4 adjustments if you’re planning to make the recipe from the Tasting History episode: p.s. Fairway carries Caraway seeds it's wild how quickly amazon's web design swings from "mediocre 2024" to "state-of-the-art 2002" there was a meeting in 2005 where it was decided that the string "FREE " would get automatically prefixed to $0.00 shipping options. and years down the line, someone forgot that behavior and the world got "FREE FREE Prime Delivery" I'm especially impressed with rounded corners using images. Border-radius has existed for what, 15 years now? no one asked but i’ve decided against getting a vision pro at least right now. it doesn’t seem like i can get work done w/ it, which is the only way i can justify spending that much. i’m worried about ergonomics and the vast majority of apps seem to be lazily-ported ipad apps. maybe in a few months when more developers can get their hands on the hardware and figure out its strengths but for now, it’s too early. even for me.

@samhenrigold if i could have N virtual desktops of arbitrary size that could be compelling but it doesn’t sound like that’s an option yet? @samhenrigold It looks like you started a support group 🤣 Hi everyone. I'm Chris and I'm also NOT buying this generation of Vision Pro. Between the weight and apparent 30hz limitation of the Mac virtual display (Airplay) this won't do as a tool for my work. Apple needs to do a bit more work for my $4000. ... ask me again after WWDC haha |
@samhenrigold you laugh but that happened to me (and I laughed)
@samhenrigold I’ll admit I did buy a second Xbox controller when Margaux moved in
