Although even if I had not seen this post, I would still try to write to you about her @gamingonlinux @godotengine It's funny, I've been developing my games almost exclusively on linux for years now, but I never post about it in Linux spaces because it's faded into the background enough that I forget most games don't even ship on Linux. Today I made a 5 step plan to improve my life that I will completely ignore to play more Heretic’s Fork, send toot Remember that threat Unity had that closed their offices? They fucked up so bad the threat came from their own staff 😵

@gamingonlinux In my circles we call that a "false flag." They did it themselves as a cry for sympathy. @gamingonlinux It almost looks like they did it to escape the town hall meeting? But there isn't a full picture and I don't really want to speculate. Go learn some Godot Engine with Humble Bundle, great timing! https://www.humblebundle.com/software/everything-you-need-to-know-about-godot-4-encore-software?partner=gamingonlinux (partner link)

@gamingonlinux I wasn't even that interested in making games but the Unity controversy makes me want to build a game with Godot lmao @gamingonlinux I like the Unity bashing as much as the next one and they sure did step into an ugly puddle of mud.. but godot isn't the answer, hyping them up just balloons the ego of a certain someone even further, w/o magically making godot anything else than a hobbyist project for small games @gamingonlinux One question, don't think it's the best place but anyway, how are the courses of Zenva, I've heard really opposite opinions and would like to know a bit more. Not only for this case. Heretic's Fork is an unholy blending of deck-building and tower defense https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/09/heretics-fork-is-an-unholy-blending-of-deck-building-and-tower-defense/ Valve puts the Steam Deck and Dock on sale again, get up to 20% off https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/09/valve-puts-the-steam-deck-and-dock-on-sale-again/ @gamingonlinux you seem to know this machine well. I really want to play some retro pc games like descent, heretic, doom, rise of the triad. Is the Steamdeck something I should be interested in? Unity had to close offices due to credible threats. Super disgusting. There is absolutely no need to send threats of any kind to the team at Unity. I get it, what Unity are trying to do is super unpopular but this is just uncalled for and helps absolutely no one, and only likely delays any improvements to their plan. Be better.

@gamingonlinux There will always be unhinged people out there sending threats over something they don't like, there always have been. Social media and the instant availability of information by way of the internet compound the issue, certainly not helped by the hyperpolarization of people by (big tech) social media. Tomb Raider I-III Remastered heads to Steam from Aspyr https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/09/tomb-raider-i-iii-remastered-heads-to-steam-from-aspyr/ When you send a user a polite warning and ask them not to post such a shitty comment again and their reply is: “ligma, ill talk however i want” Banned. @gamingonlinux that guy needs his balls kicked and destroyed and his teeth broken and shattered into pieces. If you send me a DM that is just "Hello" or some shit like that, it's an instant mute.

@gamingonlinux In cases like these I remember the phrase "you can take down the ad to sell your child but you cannot make everyone forget they saw you advertising that you are the kind of person that would sell their children". @gamingonlinux What still baffles me is the claim that developers are not "on the hook" for installs via Game Pass and similar services as the distributor is the one who will be charged. @gamingonlinux Thank you for aggregating all this information! It really help to have an overview over the whole situation. Pro-tip for other journos: don’t spin articles based on a Reddit post, where they have no idea what they’re talking about based on Proton development 😘 But hey gotta keep writing about Starfield any possible chance right?! @gamingonlinux VKD3D devs have said that about lots of games. Not sure if that is true or not. @gamingonlinux The best way to gain a permanent distrust for a publication is to hear them talk about something you're actually knowledgable about Humble Bundle has a big Cities: Skylines bundle https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/09/humble-bundle-has-a-big-cities-skylines-bundle/ GOG has a big Indie Festival Sale on https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/09/gog-has-a-big-indie-festival-sale-on/ @gamingonlinux I don't suppose you've ever gotten an official response in the past few years from GOG about Galaxy support, have you? Maybe you could reach out with the angle that Linux users now surpass Mac on Steam and see if they'll throw us a bone. It's hard to justify buying from GOG until they officially port over Galaxy, even if Heroic currently does a lot of the same stuff unofficially. Which is a shame, because if I had auto updates and cloud saves, I'd prefer to shop with them.
