@healyn more like the bottom of a sinkhole, with the Lorax fortnite dancing at the top

here, happy to be

@healyn still the most relatable post on this website

liferstate

@healyn My five-year goal is to become a raccoon and join the other animals who run around in my attic, all carefree, illiterate, and not paying bills.

Me, feeding 2 people and 2 cats on a 60k EUR salary without benefits (because technically self-employed), reading those comments that claim a 501(c)(3) is some kind of nefarious scheme to hide money 😐

@Gargron sell me the damn plushie already!

Felix Urbasik

@Gargron You shouldn't complain. I'm feeding two people on literally half of that.

Sean Bala

@Gargron

And you would have got away with it too if it wasn’t for those meddling Mastodonians!!

Now you have to find some other convoluted nefarious scheme to rake in those sweet American dollars….

Leaving “Sent from my iPhone” on is a complete release from the aesthetic jail of composing a well crafted email. Just throw words onto your screen and send. You are set free, there is no form to bend to

@tvler
My dad used to have "Sent from my Atari 2600" as his signature

Jumile

@tvler When that was first introduced, I changed mine to say "Sent from my Commodore 64"

I mean what's the point of a non-sequitur flex if its not saying something objectively cool?

@Gargron I dig the stylish guy on the right edge of the picture who matched his travel outfit to his white luggage. That’s difficult to pull off and he did a fantastic job. Respect! ✊🏽

Michael

@Gargron a someone who frequents Newark Penn I'm amazed at how you gave it such an aesthetic view!

@MrLovenstein I'm in that comic (particularly the secret panel 😭) and I don't like it. But mostly, my plants don't like it.🌱💀

proedie

@MrLovenstein I can relate to that. Or rather my poor plant friends.

#Mastodon forms new 501(c)(3) non-profit entity with new board of directors in the United States to facilitate tax-deductible donations and in-kind support:

@Mastodon Have you considered applying for a 'foreign ANBI'-status in The Netherlands? This offers tax advantages within Europe. The Wikimedia Foundation, for instance, also is an ANBI (Public Benefit Organisation).

@Mastodon

Hello!
Perhaps if Mastodon agreed not to arbitrarily suspend the accounts of general election candidates, during elections here in the UK, then the Electoral Commission might agree to promote Mastodon.

A nice building with the characteristic fire escape. I'm not entirely sure what the faded text on the building says. NYC.

@Gargron I don't know either, but I do know you were about a block from the Ghostbusters HQ. Hopefully you've got a nice black and white shot of that on a roll somewhere.

MS-DOS is now open source, so in a time honored tradition. Lets look for curse words!

@olafurw

A competition to find the data structure and calls that brought about the FTC case that eventually led to the settlement between MS and Novell/Caldera who held DR DOS at the time, might be more interesting.

The blogging platform #Ghost is working on adding #ActivityPub integration. That means, among other things, being able to follow Ghost-powered blogs and comment on articles right from your Mastodon account. The website they made to explain their plans is really nice! This is what momentum looks like.

@Gargron can ActivtyPub support events in a privacy-preserving way? Like, I want to host a party and invite my friends and their friends. But I don’t want anyone else being able to see the details.

John O'Nolan

@Gargron thanks Eugen! Would love to chat some time ✌️

@Gargron This sounds totally awesome! The bird site went talons-up, Medium isn’t necessarily a good fit for us (@ourhumanfam) but Mastodon users seem to like us a lot! I think I’m all in.

Eugen Rochko

Spoons have enormous potential for humanity, but also pose risks, such as being left out on the table and dripping honey on things that shouldn't have honey dripped on them.

That is why we need to re-engineer our spoons to be aligned with human values like keeping our surfaces clean, saving excess honey, and promoting flourishing.

I'm thrilled to announce I've received $1 billion in series A funding to solve this problem at scale.

Ian Brown :fedi:

@RDBinns you should submit this to Private Eye’s “Me and my Spoon” column 🤣

@Gargron My first time in NYC I was fascinated with the steaming sewers. I never heard an explanation for why they do that. I’ve been in many other cities in the US and Europe and never seen that.
