@Gargron well, you can have a network topology that's essentially nodes attached to a hub, and those nodes might or might not act as hubs themselves. That's the typical network topology of the internet - although it was designed not to be like that: it's just how it's ended up because of commercial ISPs. @Gargron I don't think so no. A network is an obvious plurality, but can easily have a central coordinator (master) and consist of mostly satellite/slave units. An example could be a local network of time share terminals with all the logic in the central machine. Oh, I just realized the screenshot on joinmastodon.org hasn't been updated since the single-column UI became the default 😬

@Gargron it wasn't until I read your post that I realized I turned on single column as "an experiment" and it's still on months later and I love it. @Gargron it’s a wonderful movie! It’s like experiencing a dream, it touches me because I do dream a lot.

I’m curious, how many times do I need to listen to an album on Spotify for the artist to receive as much money as if I’d have bought the CD

@Gargron https://www.digitalmusicnews.com/2018/12/25/streaming-music-services-pay-2019/ So at .99 a song, that'd be 198 times at best. @Gargron @Gargron The problem here lies in the copyright laws, which are different in each country...Spotify exploits the general flaws in the vague international rules, because there are no physical 'copies' involved in streaming. So it offers a payment per-play, just like the radio stations used to (and still do). Copyright covers copies, not plays, which are governed by individual country agreements with broadcasters, and Spotify is not classed as a broadcaster under most of the agreements... Posted 58 minutes ago folks... A new Casey Crescenzo (the person behind The Dear Hunter) song...

@Gargron big yikes. I might be missing the boat with all this DeFi stuff... back in my day we just had Bitcoin. I can't keep up with all these new tokens lol @Gargron Not really fair to take such a poorly-executed and borderline scamm"project" and put on the same stand of all the serious people working on the crypto space. @Gargron @pamdrouin
Good improvements, and nice to see it updated to show off the more recent main UI for Mastodon....
@Gargron Looks good.
"We only list communities that are committed to active moderation against racism, sexism and transphobia."
There used to be more criteria, like regular backups and multiple people with access to the computer, iirc. Are they dropped? (I cannot find the sign up page for communities any more.)
There was a community I found interesting, but on their about page you mostly see toots from other communities. Would it be an idea to only show local toots?
@Gargron @pamdrouin is there some way you could provide a lighter theme for it? Just for the documentation section at least, I can't look at this for an extended period. Light on dark themes aren't accessible for everyone.
