Heads up: If you run your Mastodon server from what was previously known as the "master" branch you'll need to switch to the "main" branch @Gargron I did this for my projects late last year. It seems like a worthless gesture, but it's easy to do.

There seems to be a bug with YouTube where they serve a http URL in <link> tags for their OEmbed endpoint, but they do not actually allow requests to the http URL, which is why YouTube previews currently do not work.

So, how are we going to fix it without hardcoding special treatment for YouTube? Maybe always trying OEmbed endpoint with https would be a safe assumption nowadays? Not sure if there are any OEmbed providers that don't offer https.

@Gargron Thanks for posting. @Gargron I'm not keen on Signal. The UI itself seems alright. What I'm not a fan of is the management/leadership. A privacy app built for "privacy" should be very easy to download without an app store, yet they promote getting it from known app stores. They also anchor fear to the standalone APK download for android, labelling it the "Danger Zone". If the app and service is as secure and trustworthy as perpetuated than why anchor fear to the non-app store version? |
@Gargron in year 2030 UK is part of EU or Scotland has left the union?
