Waiting for ibuprofen to kick in :tiredcat:

@Gargron That's what will be written on my tombstone.

I’m curious, how many times do I need to listen to an album on Spotify for the artist to receive as much money as if I’d have bought the CD

@Gargron
Look up for the patreon page or similar of the artists and send $1. That is even more than they can expect from a single user by every other ways in summary

@Gargron The problem here lies in the copyright laws, which are different in each country...Spotify exploits the general flaws in the vague international rules, because there are no physical 'copies' involved in streaming. So it offers a payment per-play, just like the radio stations used to (and still do). Copyright covers copies, not plays, which are governed by individual country agreements with broadcasters, and Spotify is not classed as a broadcaster under most of the agreements...

@Gargron it’s like that time when i was 5 and the neighbor kid pulled leaves off a tree and declared that it was money, but somehow there’s actual adults taking him seriously.

@Gargron big yikes. I might be missing the boat with all this DeFi stuff... back in my day we just had Bitcoin. I can't keep up with all these new tokens lol

Raphael Lullis

@Gargron Not really fair to take such a poorly-executed and borderline scamm"project" and put on the same stand of all the serious people working on the crypto space.

Some YouTube uploads of The Dear Hunter albums have an incorrect plot interpretation in the descriptions 😬

Eugen Rochko

A lot of wrong stuff including wrong transcriptions on Genius, too, for that matter

Demetrius

@Gargron Yeah I noticed that too. Thankfully their are websites dedicated to the lore of The Dear hunter.

I'm so happy with my new frying pan. So much more fun to cook things on a larger surface.

@Gargron when I'm feeling that, I try to drink more water. It usually helps me to stop the headache.

@Gargron IDK if you know where to find any cat photos, but their fur and expressions may get ur mind off a headache.

@Gargron Steven Levy's book on Facebook is worth a read. At least according to him, Joel Kaplan is a strong supporter of Facebook limiting censorship of conservative news sources because he felt they were being disproportionately targeted despite that not really being the case.

Marcus

@Gargron if conservatives don't want to be disproportionately affected, maybe they shouldn't lie disproportionately often.

Anthony

@Gargron You think Facebook has sold out to Governmental controls ?

I'm feeling so exhausted from trying to hit a daily steps goal lately. I walk about 4x more now than I did on average in 2019

Why did they not number the Pirates of the Caribbean movies? How am I supposed to tell which is which chronologically?!

@Gargron In each movie keira knightley's hair is a little more blond.

Do people really just casually hit 10.000 steps in a day?

@Gargron I do. My average mark is about 12.000 but if I go out for a walk with the dog I easily go further

@Gargron Yes, 10k is easy even for a programmer. Just needs a short stroll before bed. Those who break 20k need to do something specifically to make it happen (unless they work on their feet - I have a friend who works at warehouse for UPS, he throws up to 17,000 shipping boxes during his shift at peak times).

@Gargron used to have my daily fitbit target at 12,000 and hovered about 2-3 days a week above it, 5-4 days below. Since slothdown I've been lucky to hit 6,000

Just tried milk made out of oats for the first time. Taste isn't quite what I expected but it seems to work

@Gargron Oatly Barista edition is my favorite so far. It's a little thicker than normal oat milk.
