Just tried milk made out of oats for the first time. Taste isn't quite what I expected but it seems to work

@Gargron I just tried it a few days ago. Ditto. I was expecting something a bit richer...need to experiment. Glad it's not just me!

@Gargron this was a really bad time for me to misread "oats" as "cats"

@Gargron I eat it daily with porridge, perhaps mostly because it tastes better than cows milk now that I've gotten used to it. That being said, I can't overcome the feeling of being deceived.

It's 900 grams of water and 100 grams of oats. 100 grams of oats are basically free, but the somehow some smart ass marketing people found a way to make it more expensive than cows milk. I recently tried to make my own, but I need a finer mesh/cloth to not make it come out like cream from my blender.

@Gargron I like Califa Farms (if it's available where you are). Not too sweet, neutral flavor, good with coffee or even on cereal.

@Gargron That sounds fairly gross. Oatmeal/porridge or oatmeal cookies do my just fine. :blobcat:

@Gargron You know it's basically water plus oat. The one made by Milbona (Lidl's own brand) is the best I've tried, including Oatly, which I think is more a marketing thing than a good product. It has 12% of oat (which is high) and it's very sweet without added sugars or sweeteners.

@Gargron Oatly Barista edition is my favorite so far. It's a little thicker than normal oat milk.
