Just got reminded of another issue on the home assistant repo that got marked as stale

I hate stalebots, I really do

I just poked my todo item for nostalebots.xyz and poked it to maybe look at it again tomorrow

One of the ideas in there is to make an application that people can turn on and use to "revive" stale bot threatened issues every time a stale bot comes around and marks them

I want stalebots to become unusable, I want the noise of constant staleness fighting between users and bots to force the repo owner to either disable the bot, or ban the users, in the latter case exposing their opinion that they don't care about those issues

I want stalebots to become untenable, I want them to be hated with extreme prejudice, I want it to become the hallmark of an uncaring maintainer or a PKI-overdosing company, I want them to be a mark of low quality, I want them to be glared out of existence

I hate stalebots.

@ShadowJonathan Ok so I never heard of stalebots but I'm guessing this is referring to the automated closing of issues that get ignored and not solved?

Like, how when I google a very specific problem with a project, I find an issue that didn't get solved and got closed as if it didn't exist?

This is a video mashing up all known and prominent "shop" themes, but then also mashing up the visuals, for example, it starts off with a wii shop segment, but then immediately shows off a prominent NPC from the legend of Zelda as a "shopkeeper", then it transitions into that legend of Zelda game, as if you "exited" the shop popup, but instead of the NPC, you suddenly get a shopkeeper from Pokémon, selling pokeballs, and it just goes on and on from there, I'd guess

@ShadowJonathan Recent Minecraft modpacks malware infection did work on Linux because it was Java malware injected in Java code

Also, I think some Python malware from cases where there were hijacked repositories etc. was targeting linux users/servers by trying to get ssh keys and send them to attacker

literally the only correct update Nintendo could've released for the 3DS was one which opened up the firmware at least a little more, and/or removed restrictions to playing games (I'm almost sure that there are still cross-region restrictions, and so removing them would be the correct option)

When a device is past its end of its lifecycle like that you don't lock it down more, you give people the tools to still re-use it

I wish large influential bodies like the EU would actually go as far as to make this law; once a product is no longer supported, an update should be released that allows full access to its boot components, to allow consumers to be able to develop or flash custom firmware for it at any time

No computer chip is sacred enough to demand full industrial secrecy, especially when you're selling those chips to consumers, that's not secrecy, that's artificial scarcity, and in some ways, planned obsolescence

All of this wastes the abilities and capacities of the high-tech fabs we've built to churn out chips, the only EOL destination it sees is a dispassionate throw into a garbage dump, literally the most wasteful you could ever be with a high-energy product like this

Not to mention the incredible disservice and apathy that does to the sourcing of the materials, which often come at high cost, and not just money
