I find that I'm always more receptive to Santoka's peotry when I haven't washed for a few weeks. Even if there are not really any visible changes, tinkering with the details of my site to make it *just right* brings me such satisfaction 🥰 Here is the total path for the trip we did through Southeast Alaska, from Prince Rupert and back, this past month :)... @theneko a few years ago, you sent me an old magazine clipping of someone who was cruising from a seaplane, do you still have that around somewhere? @neauoire I think I had a pdf of the Life Magazine issue with the article on, but I can't quite find it. Here's an extensive article on it with all the pics though: https://www.vintagewings.ca/stories/sweet-dreams-and-nightmares And a video on the article: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TaBTjHVx6A I'll send over the pdf if I can find it! The #Berlin #Permacomputing meetup is tonight at 19:00! @mntmn will tell us the story of building up hardware and software stacks from scratch with the goal of making a computer designed for longevity, flexibility and openness. There will be hands-on demonstrations and a super-sweet keyboard. We want to expand our community. Non-nerd-identified, newbies and perma-curious are especially welcome! We're looking for a cheap room/sublet for a couple of weeks this month in the UK. If you know of anything, please let me know. Thank you. Okay! Abner got back to me for the Merveilles community discount for Handmade Seattle that's coming up!! Anyone coming down to the merveilles meetup in november and also want to see some fun talks, hit me up and I'll give you a discount code! It brings down the ticket cost to 100$ https://forum.merveilles.town/thread/87/handmade-seattle-meetup%2c-november-2024-2/ I was thinking of sewing some custom black merveilles masks to anyone who wants one, let me know if you do. :merveilles: Back in Canadian waters from Alaska, we'll try to intercept our friends sailing from Hawaii in Prince Rupert. We're ready to shed our winter jackets and kickback.. We are doing well. We left Sitka and sailed offshore, stopping twice to anchor, and did two overnight sails. Had a bit of engine trouble, managed to fix it. We had good weather to start, but the sail through Dixon Entrance was very rough. More on all this later. We have arrived back into Canada, Pino is docked in Prince Rupert. We are tired and tired. It had been a LONG time since we've done an overnight sail. The first was very nice, with calm seas, good wind, and so much wild life! We stopped pointing out breaching whales to each other because there were so many. I saw a puffin for the first time, many sea otters, and lots of black-footed albatrosses(they're so big)! The second was in big weather, with rough seas... not as relaxing. Over the past few months, I went down the rabbit hole (hah) of @neauoire 's Uxn + Varvara computer, and have re-emerged with an emulator! It's especially fast, written in safe Rust, and runs both natively and in the browser: Here's the full writeup:

@mjk Wow, that's amazing. I've been away from the internet for a few days, I'm so glad to see this, once I have a bit more bandwidth I'd love to try and build it, I've only tested the js frontend and it runs everything well. I think the only port missing is the expansion port? Trying to run the most complicated rom(oquonie), I get this: panicked at raven-uxn/src/lib.rs:495:26: |
