@mntmn Awesome! Any updates on the possibility of the Next? (the thinner thing you teased a few weeks ago)

Kann ich das #MNT #PocketReform an einen Ort in Deutschland auch direkt aus Berlin liefern lassen, oder ist der "Umweg" über Crowd Supply obligatorisch?

today i learned about the tool `b4` which makes it really easy to download patch series from lore.kernel.org

today i will attempt to upgrade this 8GB LS1028A module to 16GB by hand. wish me luck

people working on FOSS: did you see this and did you apply (grants)? https://sovereigntechfund.de/en/challenges/ because of all our hardware projects i'm already spread too thin to contribute in a bigger way to sw projects that i think matter a lot, like linux arm kernel and drivers, mesa, wlroots, wayfire, sway, gnome, pipewire, creative apps like gimp, inkscape, audio and video editors... but i would love to see the relevant people getting this cash and pushing FOSS desktops forward

MNT Reform 2023 refresh:

MNT Rack Reform BMC is coming together: boot and console UART access works via web, now just missing some buttons for power cycling and need to explore STM32MP1's USB gadget mode to expose disk images to the motherboard via USB.
minute
MNT Rack Reform rough prototyping. the unpopulated volume can be used for a GPU or disks and/or UPS batteries and/or fan.

now available in black and purple (and caseless for the MNT Reform laptop): the new MNT Reform Keyboard 3.0 (open hardware) with traditional stagger and convex space bars. https://shop.mntre.com/products/mnt-reform-keyboard-30
minute
rev2 of the LS1028A module for MNT Reform had bad footprints for level shifters for some things like UART, so it needed some surgery to get going. but otherwise it works very well in my tests, incl. PCIe, SATA and Ethernet. we need to spin it one more time to be production ready, but with some fixes it already feels like a base for a nice little open hardware pc/laptop.

built uxn on Pocket Reform to try out Oquonie by 100rabbits! more info: https://hundredrabbits.itch.io/oquonie |
what's missing to make this already pretty cool setup even cooler:
- fund a real batch (assembled at a pcb house) so we can get the price way down
- test/integrate naxriscv (out-of-order 64 bit core)
- implement a scaler in the gateware to 1/2 or 1/4 the resolution on demand to make up for 100Mhz speed
@mntmn The Kintex-7 module is listed as incompatible with the Pocket Reform on your website, right? Is that for physical reasons, or is it something that could potentially be solved in gateware?
