@davidrevoy Awesome! I also like the armor. It looks more substantial, therefore realistic, than cinematography usually depicts for female heroins.

Hi David,
great work! What templates do you have for the poses? Do you work from photos, do you have a model (real person) or can you do it just by imagination?

Stefan

@davidrevoy
Oh, good work. 👍

Just for me a Question about Proportions in fictional characters, why are they always look so athletic and slim? 🤔

New feature soon in Krita: Lambert Shading.🔆

It's a blending mode made by Despair for better shading using a single layer. I gave feedback to adjust the blending mode during its development. The blending mode is really versatile as you'll see in this quick demo I painted:

@davidrevoy oh shit, that looks really cool. what a step-up from either less than intuitive colour choices for hard/soft light/overlay, or separate layers for shadows and speculars/other effects.

rostiger

@davidrevoy Oh, this looks cool - looking forward to checking it out when it releases!
I've discovered Krita only months ago and found that there's lots to like about it. Just finished my first larger illustration in it too!

@davidrevoy
I had something like this in mind for a while.

Using CSS and SVG, though.

Might be worth to study the code.
Bookmarked for now.

Impressive realtime relight, and it works on a digital painting too. clipdrop.co/relight

@davidrevoy How does that work? How does the image know what may be illuminated and what not?
An image has no depth in this sense.

Experiment: Stable Diffusion Ai (left) and Krita paint-over (right).
In short, this process is tedious. Fixing anatomy issues of the Ai takes a lot of time. Also, some parts are just too random to make sens (she eats chocolate? ) but I'll keep testing, many new possibilities!🍫

A screenshot of my computer monitor. Main app open, Krita. Two documents are side by side. One is a Ai generated picture with a lot of issue in anatomy and random copy/paste, but the composition, the colors are appealing visually. On right , I made a paint-over the image. It result in a random witch with a dress made of flowers captured while eating a chocolate bar.

@davidrevoy haha the more I look at the first one the more uncanny / confusing it becomes. Your paint-over, on the other hand, is quite beautiful. Thanks for sharing

@davidrevoy I love this, David 😻

Not an artist myself, but curious about the thoughts on the "Rise of AI" in the artists' fields I did a poll not too long ago. My own thoughts were like "Gee, this is kinda worrying trend and will be sorely disruptive".

So this opposite take and embracing of what new possibilities may be in store is very refreshing to me. Thank you. You are always inspiring!

Here's the other poll with (elaborate) discussion thread:

@davidrevoy whoa! Using AI art as a helper tool is a great concept that I haven’t seen before. Nice!

@davidrevoy very cool. I have run into this issue whenever I try to make a one directional looping background, this will make it a lot easier!

I know the US is fucked up right now, but I'm glad you got to see a bit of NYC.

It's a place that when I'm there, every time I walked out the door, I was inspired- the grandiosity yes, but also the energy.

My last evening in Boston was great! Thanks Story, @zenhack and @doctormo for the very interesting talks and the guided tour of Boston by night. My vacations are ending, time to go back home and produce new artworks and comics 🙂

D'ailleurs il n'y ait pas sur ton magnifique dessin 🤩
