Do you see a pattern?

Russian hit squad assassinates Maksim Kuzminov in Spain.

Leonid Volkov attacked in Lithuania.

Airplanes GPS jammed all over Poland and the Baltics.

Fiber optic cables destroyed in France and Finland.

Underwater listening stations destroyed in Norway.

The Russian vessel Admiral Vladimirsky caught mapping sabotage targets in The North Sea.

Weapons depots blown up in Bulgaria.

— And our politicians claim we are certainly not in any way at war with Russia.

Wake up!

@randahl Can you post sources to these statements? I have read of the first 3, but seem to have missed the others.

Dr. Mattias Holm :verified:

@randahl Derailings on the iron ore line (Luleå-Narvik).

Fire in Berlin office of IRIS-T manufacturer.

This is what people, and particularly independent voters in the US, don't seem to get. It is already on. Ukraine is doing the heavy lifting for us, yes. But it's happening. This is as real as war gets, short of World War III.

Which makes MTG etc. TRAITORS. Not eccentrics. Not even extremists. TRAITORS.

Russia is ALREADY in open war with democracy. It's a little bit easier to notice that when you live in Europe, as I do. NATO is the last firewall.

This map shows where Russia is currently attacking GPS signals in the EU.

According to this brilliantly researched article from Peter Møller, Russia has a classified weapons system called Tobol, which is jamming GPS satellites from a base in Kaliningrad.

By using photos and articles from before the war, he has managed to piece together a surprisingly clear picture of what the Russians are doing.

(In Danish but translating it is absolutely worth it.)

This year, Russia has already

— threatened to use nuclear weapons against the west
— put the Estonian Prime Minister on their most wanted list
— gunned down a Russian defector who was living in Spain
— wiretapped the German airforce

Politicians may claim we are not at war with Russia, but clearly Russia is at war with us.

@randahl In 2016 I started saying that Russia was at war with the U.S. and explaining that war today doesn't always mean bombs and guns. People thought I was being hyperbolic, but it's 8 years later and Russia's been at war with us this entire time. Based on the ever-expanding insider threat we have (i.e., Republicans), it's doing very well.

If you were previously disappointed with the search function on Mastodon, I highly recommend you try it again, as it has improved considerably.

We used to only be able to search for hashtags, but now it feels much more like normal textual search.

@randahl
I just tried searching for a plausible term, and I can find matching profile names, but cannot find posts containing the term. Is that how it is supposed to work?

Communication designer Chris Messina, who in 2007 came up with the idea of using hashtags on Twitter, has now left Twitter because of Elon Musk.
The good news: He is now on : @chrismessina.

@randahl @chrismessina I’m sorry twitter has become such shadow of what we all wanted it to be. Welcome to Mastadon.
