Without food and water, humans start dying after one week.

Also, that presidential candidate is from an immigrant family himself, and is himself a convicted felon.

 @randahl His aunt lied to get his mother into the country; she wrote a fraudulent letter to the immigration services, saying her sister had a job waiting: she didn't. She eventually got work as a maid in his grandfather's (the Bavarian who'd owned and run a saloon/brothel in the Yukon) house. His dad married one of the help.

@randahl Derailings on the iron ore line (Luleå-Narvik). Fire in Berlin office of IRIS-T manufacturer. …  This is what people, and particularly independent voters in the US, don't seem to get. It is already on. Ukraine is doing the heavy lifting for us, yes. But it's happening. This is as real as war gets, short of World War III. Which makes MTG etc. TRAITORS. Not eccentrics. Not even extremists. TRAITORS. Russia is ALREADY in open war with democracy. It's a little bit easier to notice that when you live in Europe, as I do. NATO is the last firewall.

@randahl@mastodon.social @randahl is this not to be classified as offensive military action against nato members? This year, Russia has already — threatened to use nuclear weapons against the west Politicians may claim we are not at war with Russia, but clearly Russia is at war with us.

 @randahl In 2016 I started saying that Russia was at war with the U.S. and explaining that war today doesn't always mean bombs and guns. People thought I was being hyperbolic, but it's 8 years later and Russia's been at war with us this entire time. Based on the ever-expanding insider threat we have (i.e., Republicans), it's doing very well.  If you were previously disappointed with the search function on Mastodon, I highly recommend you try it again, as it has improved considerably. We used to only be able to search for hashtags, but now it feels much more like normal textual search. @randahl Communication designer Chris Messina, who in 2007 came up with the idea of using hashtags on Twitter, has now left Twitter because of Elon Musk.
