The only good thing about so-called "odd looking gesture" is that small tech CEOs will finally shut the fuck up about Musk / Tesla / etc

But if the rubber ducks can find the problems in the code by themselves then why do we need to pay the programmers

Tuckers Nuts Resist😈!

🥥 Eye don't understand what this post means, mcc, but it's got rubber ducks, so Eye boosted it. 🥥

Them: We're forcing you to go back into the office because we believe work is more meaningful when employees are together and have a shared sense of comradery.

Me: So, unionize?

Them: No, not like that.

Can the Gann Limit

@theropologist

That's what we did! Ironically, being in the office together did make it easier to chat people up about the union.

So I made a macOS thing. It's a fidget spinner, but with a twist.

Made possible thanks to @samhenrigold posting about his own experiments with these private APIs.

@OutOnTheMoors It's cute that you think this is a joke, but even now, right behind you:

A picture where a bag of potatoes that were sitting on a shelf in a dark closet have sprouted tendrils spreading creepily across the entire closet, searching for soil.

Or blood.

What's really threatening is all the plastic surrounding 'fresh' vegetables.

@fribbledom It's so fucking annoying. Why they can't just put a memory limit in those things like any user-respecting app, I cannot fathom.

I'm only ever looking at a handful of tabs at the same time, for heaven's sake!

Firefox is particularly bad (can't say for other browsers) because they don't garbage-collect closed tabs. Not even when you _tell it to optimize_ on about memory! 🤬 It just keeps growing and growing until system memory is full -- and not even _then_ does it give way! AAARG!

Alex

@fribbledom It sounds ridiculous, but what else are you doing on your computer than browsing Facebook? Why would it not use all the RAM if that's all you do? 🤔😂
Btw, Chrome?

Григорий Клюшников

You can save a lot of memory by disabling JS JIT.

they call it printf even though it prints all of the other letters too

@atax1a@infosec.exchange Now you tell me! Written a while library of functions for the other letters!

Colin

@atax1a If you look really closely it's actually composing the other letters and symbols out of tiny "f"s. Very few people examine their letters closely which is how they get away with this.

GOOD NEWS EU 🇪🇺 For innovation in app distribution, Epic Games has granted us a MegaGrant grant that we plan to use to cover Apple’s Core Technology Fee going forward — and we won’t take it for granted!

What does this mean? AltStore PAL is now FREE — no subscription necessary 🎉 altstore.io

Actually a LLM

@altstore Epic Games wants to see the iGardenWalls burned down as much as we do 🙂

Dmian

@altstore Downloaded, thanks! As well as Delta (which I insist, should at least cost something). Am I right to think we’ll see some Epic offerings soon? 😁

It's absolutely abysmal how software with a tagline "we'll protect you from breaches and therefore financial risks" has just caused huge ass financial losses for hundreds of companies and for millions of individuals.

What even funnier is that it has to get worse, before it gets better: the affected companies won't learn a thing, and neither will the security auditors.

I guess it takes less than 62 minutes to fix a few thousands Windows machines.

I sure love vacations, it's such an amazing time when you can totally forget about computers and all this nonsense.

I love it so much that when I got to the hotel I got really annoyed by the wifi login form, so I spent time to make sure I never see this stupid form again ever again.

Trying out Web Bluetooth API (developer.chrome.com/articles/), and it's absolutely amazing — took me just 10 minutes with Web Bluetooth to do same thing I’ve been trying to do with native BLE API on Android for days.

Why are native APIs so hostile and so lagging behind?
