@dansup Hi ! I can't create a #pixelfed account with a Mastodon login. It's not available. I try to do this since yesterday but I cannot. I have to write an email and a password like a new account. Today I found a link on a search engine and this link go to pixelfed.fr where buttons seems to give access to an account but it's a lure. When I am inside the process, a page ask me for an email and a password to end the account creation. Waste of time. Pixelfed + Account Migration, almost ready for showtime! ✨ You will be able to migrate from Pixelfed to Pixelfed and Pixelfed to Mastodon and vice versa! Viva la federation 🥳 Guess it's finally time to embrace the docker, and push an official dockerfile to pixelfed/pixelfed ✨ @dansup is this going to be completely self contained or will it need other docker containers along with it? Either way, THANK YOU! Might spin up my own instance now pending on the ease of config. (I'm lazy lol)

Happy Heritage Day! A holiday invented by Alberta so August had a long weekend too! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civic_Holiday#Alberta #proudAlbertan Going to tag v0.11.9 after shipping Account Migration! Not a bad few months 😎 https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/blob/dev/CHANGELOG.md#unreleased @dansup @pixelfed I think Pixelfed -> Mastodon could be a genuine path for some to take. In any case, things operating by standards are great. So if you can make it Mastodon compatible I don't see why not. That being said, I don't like that all the "old" stuff is on your old Mastodon server and you're starting fresh on a new server. I'd much rather content come with me too. So if that's a possibility I'd much prefer that. Signal : https://signal.org/docs/specifications/doubleratchet/ MLS: https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc9420.html MLS is based on Signal, key diff is ART (async ratcheting trees). MLS is the likely choice for sup. if sup becomes a thing, one of the apps for it needs to be called supdawg. then you truly have the answer to the question: ‘what’s supdawg?’ @dansup I was going to ask this. It would be nice to finally have one messaging app to rule them all. I seem to remember you saying it was going to work with existing fedi id's... In other news, I miss Trillian. Sup source code https://github.com/theSupApp Will get back to this once I finish Account Migration in @pixelfed (shouldn’t take long) Are you thinking about implementing the same account-migration protocol that Mastodon uses (and Firefish copied)? @dansup To be fair it's about all of us. Something like (an actually simple) SimpleX paired with IRCv3 would be an ideal solution, I think. @dansup maybe the solution is to just make an app for an existing protocol and try making the best app out of all the others? I'm just saying. |

@dansup Congratulations!
@dansup @gbhnews @gbhnews@pixelfed.social So it’s funny I was like “oh I should fire up Pixelfed” and then I remembered that I could just follow from Mastodon. 😆
