@jeffowski I think it's both reasons : essentially without the iPhones, and without kids finding out this information - the world would seem pretty blissful.

Whyrl

@jeffowski @bersl2 Totally agree with OP, but social media is probably partly to blame too. I can't imagine growing up in a world where I can't disconnect from school/social and being mentally healthy.

Tim Fearnside

@jeffowski Not coincidentally, it’s also why parents of kids today are more depressed.

Ben: All I know is that you're not supposed to pet service dogs, and that you're supposed to follow one of it approaches you unaccompanied.

@jeffowski My chickens do this when one of the other chickens is stuck somewhere.

@jeffowski the service dog's friends waiting around the corner to rob you...

@jeffowski same again with skills shortages, but they're withholding the chance for people to gain the level of skills and experience required.

@jeffowski
you mean the times of REAL Kings and Queens and Dukes and the Court and Divine Rule?
That wonderful time I AM SURE I HAVE SUCH AN ANCESTOR SOMEWHERE

@jeffowski Exactly it wasn''t a fun time and women were branded witches if they exhibited intelligence and men could accuse whoever they wanted to of being a witch

@jeffowski You know your antiquated view of the middle ages is actually pretty unscientific and full of false believes!? Don't throw stones from inside the glass house! @acid

I want to agree, but oligarchs are stringy, dry and smell off.

Tax them robustly, enthusiastically, urgently, with vigor, there's the sauce.

Eisenhower taxed at 90% on some, asked by a business paper why a Republican continued Roosevelt's taxes, Ike answered, "I tax lazy money."

Left middle and right voters ALL SUPPORT taxing Wealth, taxing ludicrous salaries, its popular. Lower everyone eles.

@jeffowski You know though I think it does seem to happen? I've watched my parents turn so hard right that they now repeat GOP propaganda verbatim and don't even know they're doing it. I had one person who was a friend for something like 10 years become so far right I couldn't stand listening to them hate every single thing any Democrat ever does anymore and just had to leave. Another friend took a similar turn, even voting for trump instead of against Democrats in this most recent election.

@jeffowski @OutOnTheMoors This is a composite photo. It’s actually physically impossible to get a multiple exposure of the Moon that would look like this.

There was a *really* nice post on reddit that debunked it, but for some reason it was taken down as suspected spam. Sounds like things are going great over there. Here is an archived version:

Just to give you an idea of why it can’t work:
The moon is half a degree wide. So, using that as a scale, the distance between the almost New Moon and the Full Moon in that picture is about 11°.
You would see a thin waxing crescent near the Eastern horizon, just before sunrise. A Full Moon would be near the Eastern horizon at *sunset* (so, not the same time) or near the Western horizon at sunrise (so, ~180° away, in the opposite direction, MUCH more than 11°).

Anyway, it’s a nice picture, but it’s art, not science. The description is only correct in that the Moon was photographed. I’d delete the rest.

@jeffowski is there a link we could read? I'm asking because I have been thinking of doing a similar thing (I think it actually was all full moon risings of the year).
