Chess Grandmaster Anna Muzychuk refuses to play in Saudi Arabia and says: "In a few days, I will lose two world titles, back to back." Because I decided not to go to Saudi Arabia. I refuse to play by special rules, to wear abaya, to be accompanied by a man so I can leave the hotel, so I don't feel like a second class person.

Why would she refuse to visit the most totalitarian regime in the world treating women as accessory and property of men? What kind of women in the world #chess #saudiarabia makes #Iran look like San Francisco ...ohhh you mean it was ALL MEN that decided all this ... but she is in focus ... for depriving men of their titles? In Wroclaw, Poland each cathedral and even the rivers have a tactile model nearby for blind people to see them too. See more: http://themindcircle.com/mini-sculptures/

@jeffowski Fun fact: the scientists themselves don’t get any cut whatsoever when people buy the articles.

Exactly! My ambition to learn to speak Chinese when I lived in Shanghai was crushed by some very close friends laughing their socks off every other time I said something. @jeffowski I really don't like any of these remarks. I'd like to add "Why can't you be more like _________ (insert name of sibling, cousin, friend, parents' friend's kid). Ugh! @jeffowski Punishing both ways is done out of ignorance and not deliberately. Fine. So apologize! Don't pretend it didn't happen. The person on the receiving end learns something when they are "damned if I do, damned if I don't." They learn to stop trying. Eventually, they learn to stop listening. It goes downhill from there. Apologize! Don't alienate when you don't mean to alienate.

@jeffowski When we take Uber, it is almost always to get TO the train station or the airport. There isn't any bus service here. Taxi companies are almost never unionized. We have a billionaire bubble. I'm convinced that all the "value" ascribed to the rich doesn't exist. Wealth is vapor-value. @jeffowski This 1961 photo is called “The Mob”, and was shot by professional cat photographer Walter Chandoha. Originally a WW II combat photographer, his signature style was filming cats at their eye level. He collected nearly 100,000 cat photographs and it’s pretty cool that someone made a career out of this.

@jeffowski copyright reform may not be the most pressing thing to focus on immediately but it needs to be on the docket, being worked on.
