the "LD" in JSON-LD stands for "Lil Data," the rapper name for Jason JSON (the inventor of JSON) it’s fun to horrify non-americans with bits of life here. like biscuit cans that explode when you press a spoon to them, classroom emergency buckets, still being able to rattle off the pledge of allegiance since it’s seared into our brains from age 5,  My own wtf observations from visiting the US mostly relate to money and include the tips, the prices that don't include the sales tax, and the credit card readers that still only use the magnetic stripe and sometimes no authentication whatsoever. On the first day of my first visit in 2014 (in NYC, btw) I had to google what the fuck "one dime" was. can someone — ANYONE — explain to me why Worcester is pronounced "Wooster" but Dorchester is not pronounced "Dooster"

Clearly “h” is the flag for “hPronounce all the letters”. how is amazon the biggest retailer and their web design not only sucks but also has awful recommendations. just because I bought a blood pressure monitor one time does not mean I want recommendations on more blood pressure monitors.

Slightly offtopic — am I the only one who's mildly annoyed that Apple, the company that made itself famous by building outstanding computer hardware and software, is now also a bank and a movie studio? Steve must be spinning in his grave so furiously.  @samhenrigold it appears that this offer is only valid if you pay using Apple Pay, which excludes Walmart in-store because Walmart is STUPID and doesn't support tap to pay at all. But, just for funsies, I bought a pixel 7 pro. Good lord this thing is a unit. It's nice and looks nice, but absolutely unwieldy. I've been through this with a Nexus 6P. Thought I'll get used to it. Unpopular opinion: IE-era web was better because its scope was finite. Web pages were documents. Web browsers didn't try to be operating systems. If you wanted app-like functionality anyway for shits and giggles, it was called Flash.
