@gruber I have never seen “big league” as an explanation of his “bigly”. I know what big league means from movies and such but I never connected the two. I just thought he said bigly because he is, well, him.

@gruber Our fellow countrymen and countrywomen seem to misinterpret/misunderstand more and more every day. 😐

Someone tell the people at Google Drive that you don't include punctuation characters like “+” or “-" when showing keyboard shortcuts. Just ⌘V, not ⌘+V. You know, like every menu in every Mac or Windows apps for the last 39 years.

@gruber Apple uses “-“ in their documentation. For example, “Option-Command-Esc” https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201236

@gruber Although every single Mac print magazine I’ve written for over the last 20+ years has used the + formatting. Also, it might be a better option for screen readers.

Bluesky is going to skyrocket to mainstream popularity and actually replace Twitter, and Mastodon cannot, because Bluesky is being designed to be simple, fun, and — most importantly — easy to understand.

@gruber it appears that if you canceled the subscription already (as I did) you can’t opt out through the app. Wish I knew if my Twitterrific sub will be “refunded” or if I can decline it.

@gruber frustrations aside, has he submitted an appeal? I have not been following along the saga. Appeal guarantees another pair of eyes. If you keep submitting new builds it’s the same (ignorant) reviewer in the other side. I guess having the same reviewer on one version’s review process is beneficial more often than not, but in this case an appeal is the way to go

Feels like a milestone: I don’t think I’ve changed an app in my iPhone dock since we turned off the lights on Vesper.

While I’m singing the praises of Electron apps, I should also praise the memory efficiency of Catalyst apps, especially Apple’s own. 1.5 GB for a single-window app.
