@garritfra heading for 2024 predictions has a typo, I think. Should be 2024 not 2023!

@garritfra Given that I know the town where you're living and I also sold my car in 2021, I totally support your goal of selling your car as well! Sign up for Sheepersharing.com, get a bike (or Pedelec) and maybe also a Bahncard and your good to go 😉 There's also a great book by @heibie "Einfach autofrei leben".
If you need some more help, feel free to ask 😄

Here's a list of articles that have piqued my attention lately. I hope you'll find something useful in there!

@garritfra that code to look for evens or odds is superb

People say it takes 10.000 hours to master a skill. Some thoughts on that.

"Immutability Changes Everything" is the first scientific paper I ever read from start to finish. It's very short, fun to read and beginner-friendly.

@garritfra @m2m

I think you have formatting broken for some links?

Btw Thanks for the update, I think I will update my blogroll with the context as well.

@garritfra wait until you hear about Riemann sphere and extended comlex numbers, where division by zero works. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rieman

Inversion still does not work for division by 0 there, so it does not form a field. But it's useful for other things.

For as long as I can remember, I often had the feeling of not being able to take a full breath. Here are some notes on this so called "air hunger":

@garritfra I’ve been dealing. With this for about a year. Same thing, feels like I need to keep yawning, can’t get enough air in. Mine seems to be related to anxiety, but it’s tricky because I don’t _think_ I’m anxious when it starts.

@garritfra An interesting post, and mouth breathing is far more destructive than we realise.

A couple of books that I read a few years ago may interest you. They completely changed the way I approach breathing.

First, Breath, by James Nestor: uk.bookshop.org/p/books/breath

Second, The Oxygen Advantage by Patrick McKeown: uk.bookshop.org/p/books/the-ox

The second one is a little more athletic performance related, with most basic topics already covered in Breath.

Happy reading :)

@garritfra Great!

Fun fact: I really don't like drinking coffee, because I hate the taste. But in school I was kind of addicted to caffeine pills because I thought they were boosting my concentration. I stopped taking them, when I noticed, I'm getting tired without the pills.

My favorite drink nowadays is tab water. And I also drink the occasional tee or juice. But I try to avoid alcohol.

@garritfra I used to drink 2, 3 or mayne 4 big cups of #coffee during workdays. I'm pretty sure I was around 1l of the black stuff a day.

Except weekends. At home I maybe drank one cup of instant per day. Weekends were punctuated with a very strong #migraines.

This went on for at least a couple of years if not more, until I crossed the Atlantic, changed my habits by chance, and drank less coffee. Months to years later I figured it out, because of course I never asked a doctor.

I've been learning #Japanese on Duolingo for about three months now, and for some reason I find it much harder to remember Katakana compared to Hiragana. Maybe it's because I started with Hiragana and stuck with it for quite some time? I feel like my brain is trying to recall Hiragana when reading Katakana.

Let's try something: #RoastMySite!

I want to hear your honest feedback, (not so) constructive criticism, funny bug reports and savage burns. 🔥

Got your own site? I'll roast it!

@garritfra

1. A skip link would be a nice addition and a massive improvement for accessibility.
2. I'm not sure if I like the "✨ Random Post ✨" title of a blog page—it may imply that the posts below are randomized, but they are not.
3. I'm not a big fan of these social icons under every article. I am a big fan of the Web Share API for things like this.

Other than that, I can find millions of things I love about your website!

Your round!

@garritfra Imagine bothering to post to your own website 93 times 🔥🔥🔥

/s

Congrats: 93 is 93 more than I have done! I really should bother myself.... 😅

@garritfra Your site is pretty good, but …

- you should underline your links! thoughts.jatan.space/p/colored
- it feels a bit monotonous. You could add a few emojis, but this is of course a matter of taste

Would also appreciate a roast of my site 😄

Is it just me, or are this years puzzles way harder than the last years?

@garritfra Today's (#4) was the first I didn't make a meal of. For some reason my brain hasn't been in gear and I've been misinterpreting things and making daft mistakes. E.g. I got the wrong answer y'day because I couldn't add up a list of numbers. I checked the actual logic, couldn't find a mistake (because there wasn't one!), emitted the list and added them in excel. Then spotted the spectacularly stupid error.
