We created such an amazing toy. That photo alone doesn’t do it justice. I’m going to write about it on the blog soon. Just can’t wait to get it out to people. And I hope you’ll love him as much as we do.

@Gargron it's good to fall in love with someone you love

GMcGath

@Gargron Does it go zip when it moves and bop when it stops and whir when it stands still?

Aday

@Gargron will it be available in different sizes? 😃

Eugen Rochko

He’s here! The prototype, anyway. He’s big, squishy, and friend-shaped. We’ll try to make him as affordable as possible. You’ll have to wait a couple more months to get one, but we might open pre-orders relatively soon.

@Gargron I love it! But also it's a bit big for me personally. If it was more elePHPant sized (1/3 ish) I'd probably pay €25 +p&p as that's the typical going rate for one of those.

Pimpdaddysupreme

@Gargron any chance of producing these fist sized? Something maybe the size of a baseball or softball would be easier to hand out at conventions, ship, and sit on a desk or shelf.

First attempt with two continuous tunsgten lights. I've used the second to accentuate the hair with a pink gel, but in hindsight, maybe should've used it for fill to reduce the contrast on the shadows.

@Gargron Well done! Correct exposure for a black cat is quite difficult too master.

@Gargron
Pink Gel? that explains why her hair looks so stiff.

Now: The Hirsch Effekt. In a bit: The band I’m here for, #Leprous.

@Gargron just checked them out on Spotify, some deadly riffs the concert must be a blast :)

Fúlvio Leo

@Gargron I hope to get a chance to see them live. They're awesome!

#Dune is well worth a trip to the cinema, I can say that much.

@Gargron Do they actually complete the (first) book? I've been holding off until book 1 is complete ( and I saw a couple of rumors awhile back that they were considering going to 3 movies to finish the first book)

@Gargron Attending mess today for the second time. #Dune2

I'm tired of hearing about AI, to be honest. I never cared for it. I don't respect people who use generative AI, and I despise companies that sell out people's data to train it. Yes, people will lose jobs to it, but the world will not be better for it. It's just that consequences are rarely immediately apparent in such complex systems.

@Gargron There can be good consequences also. Like people (and not only hollywood and friends) being able to create entertainment.

They maybe want to paint it in a bad color in part because of that.

@Gargron I use it for one thing. Pulling usable info out of obscene amounts of documentation.

Here is your #Caturday update. She loves a good box. And a bad box. Any box. #CatsOfMastodon

@Gargron No Box is too small!😄 My sister sent pictures of her cat to me: Celine sitting in the parcel which I hat sent to her 😊 (when she had taken my gift out of the parcel).

Hakan Bayındır

@Gargron I think you should give a go to Octopus Diver, Stone Rebel and King Weed trio.

All of them are on BandCamp

Kinda harder, but not abrasive.

Watching old movies that were shot on actual film brings me so much joy now. Such beautiful colors. It’s downright relaxing. I’m tired of the over saturated digital look almost every new production has nowadays.

@Gargron It's like all the colour that has been sucked out of the real world (where everything's now white, grey or black) is spewn back at you all at once from every little digital display you have.

(Yes, I'm a bit shocked by the hugely oversaturated default display setting of my new smartphone.)

TΞX

@Gargron this is more a color grading trend than a digital problem, of course digital allow more ease and possibilities in color grading that tend to this trend, but there are some fine color graded digital movies too. And there were ugly color graded analogical movies too in the past . That said, i agree that this current trend is boring :)

Chainsaw Dan

@Gargron I watch a lot of Arrow Video and getting to see 70s/80s Italian Giallo in 4k but with film gran intact looks stunning. Much nicer than a clean digital look.

@Gargron The French Revolutionary Calendar had 10 days a week. They used it for 12 years. As far as I know, it did not lead to space-time difficulties, but it did lead to Napoleon, who was a bit of a disruption in himself. So if a French John Lennon in say about 1800 sang, "Oooh I need your love babe, ten days a week," it would not be hyperbole, but perhaps just a manifestation of the "many worlds" version of multiverse theory.

There is an ongoing spam attack on the fediverse for the last couple of days. It's more widespread than before, as attackers are targeting smaller servers to create accounts. Before, usually only mastodon.social was targeted and our team could take care of it. For server administrators out there: If you don't need open registrations, switch over to approval mode. If you do, blocking disposable e-mail providers is a massive stopgap to the problem. Mastodon also supports hCaptcha.

@Gargron I understand it has became more popular - so ther is some kind of "jalousy" among the old emperors? I know it seams to sound as conspiracy-theory... but it isn't. Growth of fediv takes the numbers away... so...

@Gargron #HCaptcha is a barrier for many blind/visually impaired users, for some of the reasons outlined in my recent post here: universeodon.com/@FreakyFwoof/

@Gargron A lot of furry servers have been set to approval required for a while. The verification field asks "What is your fursona and why is this a good home for them?" to weed out both spam and uninteresting trolls.

Three Peaches. Trying out a gimmicky vintage lens filter. Also, coincidentally, this is what my vision does to faraway objects like the moon.

@Gargron That's a great photo. I love how the color is "the same but different" all around giving it a "it's a color photo, but it's not" vibe.

Keep it up.
