@mfierst Arri 650W and Arri 300W. They're halogen so a natural 3200K color temperature.

@kava Are you comparing that to black and white or other color negative film? Or do you mean that it looks better one stop overexposed?

the color negative. I recently shot 2 Gallery openings with the portra. all the portraits of the visitors under good light with small aperture looked great. the wider shots with open aperture nearly had any detail. I wouldnβt push the portra - I see so much grain already.

I really think itβs just the perfect film for Portraits, Indoor. but I changed to Cinestill 400 recently and donβt regret it :) this one gives me the look i was hoping for instantly, no clour correction, just plain scan from the lab  |

The colour balance is nice. What kind of lights have you used?
If I remember correctly, there used to be special tungsten lights 3300K and 500W for use in photography. It has been a while, so perhaps I am mistaken.
I do not think the shadows need extra lighting.
