Hey, what other Mastodon hosting providers exist besides masto.host and hostdon.jp? Are there any?

@Gargron I found this one but no idea how they actually do it: https://cts-solutions.at/hosting-mastodon-server/ So I'm just wondering... With static assets like images, adding an edge CDN is relatively simple. But with anything dynamic like API responses, not so much. There must be ways of dealing with that. Because, let's say my servers are in Germany, and you are in Australia. Any API response for you takes up to 800ms longer than for me.

My guess is that you would basically run a copy of your entire stack in different regions, from load balancer to database, but the databases would be set to replicate the master, and any writes would still go to the master. So information would *arrive* with a 800ms delay but the users wouldn't feel it most of the time. Also GeoDNS. Trying to find a band I listened to around or before 2010 based on only a vague memory of really reverberated female lead vocals and possibly being from Brazil Haha, found it! Got the year wrong! It was in 2012. The band Scarlet Leaves. I knew it was something forest related and had an "a" in it. Gonna give this another go Just remembered a band I was listening to in around 2010: Fieldtriqp https://fieldtriqp.bandcamp.com/album/old-haunts-expanded #np

I have a new chamaedorea elegans, but it seems to not be doing very well (tips of leaves going dry, some dry spots here and there). Am I watering it too much, or too little? It's next to a window, but out of direct sun for most of the day (some sunrays hit it in the morning from a different window). Could the light be the problem?

@Gargron #1 house plant killer is lack of humidity. I used to water my plants at night and keep them in trays where runoff gathered. That way their roots get a good drink overnight and their leaves take everything that evaporates in the day. I'm a bit sad that the blin cat images being re-shared nowadays are all edited. The original blin cat was perfect as it was. |
@Gargron Oh FFS, why must everyone be shit?
@Gargron

"This was strange because none of the pages I visited contained any calls to Stripe’s library."
