@GossiTheDog The sheriff's claim that "the vehicle was locked due to the nature of the force from the explosion" makes it sound like the explosion deformed parts of the car and caused the door to jam, but obviously that's not the case, since the car could be unlocked remotely. @GossiTheDog I'm surprised people are surprised at this. I gave my freshman in Public Health instructions to record and share their use of AI and, since it's a quantitative subject, calculate their personal contribution energy use. Most of them just didn't use it so they wouldn't have to calculate the numbers which I'll call a win! Wikipedia is a problem for Musk/Trump. Not, as Musk says, because it's "woke." Because it's one of our last reliable tethers to a consensus reality. Therefore, an antidote to disinformation. It's not making anyone money. It's not enshittified. Of course it's not perfect—it's an endeavor of imperfect cooperating humans. I experimented with Siri for a few days when it first came out several years ago, decided it was junk, then switched it off. #Privacy nightmares like this one are another reason why I would never switch Siri (or any other "assistant") back on. #tech
