 the rabbit holes always keep expanding. reading about UPI IDs. I was just surprised to see there is this weird name system for banks that is user facing with millions of users I had never heard of. usernames are in the form of username@bank but its not an email address who needs UFOs when you have ULGs woah wait @mountain_goats is actually their real account? I think last time I listened to them was on my first ipod in highschool  mandate that every post needs to be visual and then you have to click thru for the text describing it we all have such wildly different terms for everything. there no such thing as speaking the same language. I was talking to a French person about the fediverse and they thought I was calling it 'fait divers' https://www.linguee.de/franzoesisch-deutsch/uebersetzung/fait+divers.html looking through an old "reminders" list from me asking Siri to take notes: "If my slime supports embeds could mastodon interpret crazy posts from other servers" I just watched an entire documentary that was translated live from german to english and whispered to me and one other person as we were watching. A very interesting experience! I haven't ever had this happen before.

It is a dense text but one that evokes many exciting directions of conversation...
