I like his book The Emergence of Iranian Nationalism, too. Because it looks like your instance just hasn't fetched any apconf content because it didn't know about it. Whereas for social almost certainly already had a subscriber and so knew about the content and so could render it I just found my keys I lost two years ago. That cost me so much greif and hundreds of dollars to replace. they were hanging on the wall of my friends shop Linux and open source are very important but not being murdered by fascists is a bit more important  something is up with the OpenGraph tags getting made on #mastodon @Gargron post I noticed it on... this is a #mastodev UX bug we really need to fix. when logged in and you click "follows" it should just open the users profile in a new window where it shows all their follows/followers and not say this "This user doesn't follow anyone yet." cause its clearly not true. @Gargron@icosahedron.website  @liaizon this happens because of how federation works. Thing is, I do understand it. 99% of people do not. Other instances don't know about all of the relationships of foreign users. I was thinking about ways to fix that in #Smithereen, because I clearly do need that — I need complete friend lists to show mutual friends in profiles. Actually, this applies to likes as well. If you see a post from another instance, you NEVER see the complete list of people who liked it. |
@liaizon the hard part about e2e for social media is that there's a key you have to store reliably somewhere on the client and use to encrypt and decrypt things. Okay if the client is an app, major PITA if it's a browser. Basically you aren't doing any of it if your website isn't a single-page app.
But then people will still want privacy settings about who can view something.
