The reason FediDB is the way it is, is because it was originally started as an ActivityPub test service I had to manually add public software listings, and all the data which is why it only shows a fraction of the actual software Open sourcing this means we can crowdsource the missing data and provide more coverage and better data Having a public API of software like https://api.fedidb.org/v1/software is pretty cool, but we can do better 😉 I'm really looking forward to getting caught up and shipping Groups, and app updates so I can move onto Loops, Sup, fediDB and fediverse.info It's really been bothering me that https://fedidb.org is ugly, slow and sometimes poorly represents the data I look forward to refactoring FediDB this summer, and open sourcing it so others can help improve it, the current "theme" prevents that atm, so I need to (and want to) redesign it I never expected https://fedidb.org to become such an important part of the fediverse, and with all the historical data and usage, it deserves a proper and open source implementation, which I really look forward to 😁 The more I grow as a developer, the more I realize the "magic" of performance is really just more fancy loading states  But also being smart about preloading data in advance. Not this again. I had this constant worry in my last employed job. I was the only person looking after the entire e-learning platform, and broke into a sweat whenever I saw a bus go by. I begged my line manager to stop asking the department head what would happen if Kevin (me) was hit by a bus, and instead ask what would happen if Kevin won the lottery and left. 🤷♂️ I updated the https://beagle.pixelfed.net service which @pixelfed uses to share trending posts, so even new servers have content on the app Discover page I tweaked the Beagle Discovery algorithm to only include Mastodon posts with certain keywords so you only see beautiful photos and art on the Discover feed ✨

@dansup @pixelfed aku install pixelfed BETA di android, ketika ingin mengupload sebuah video entah kenapa semua videoku tidak muncul, hanya foto saja yang muncul, jadi aku tidak bisa mengupload video. aku pengguna android dan instance pixelfed.tokyo tetapi ketika aku menggunakan app pixeldroid aku bisa mengupload video.  I'm really stoked for the new app! Is there a list of features that soon will be added to the new app version? E.g I'm currently missing the filters of the old version of the app 🤔

If you update to the latest @pixelfed app version, and the app still crashes when you open it, it means your server is running an outdated version and needs to be updated before you can use the app. The minimum supported version is now v0.12.1 Spread the word! #pixelfed #pixelfedApp   Pixelfed Starter Kits will federate and be compatible with Mastodon and other platforms* You will be able to create and manage them via our app!  I installed it the other day, other than not being able to set the avatar, loving it. @dansup is there any way you can write it in native php and make a Laravel wrapper? I often use no framework, and it also opens the possibility for example to make another wrapper like symfony on top. @pixelfed
