  The ActivityPub spec mentions everything except the stress and anxiety implementers should expect 😅 Back in 2018, when I created @pixelfed and AP was brand new, there was much less expectations regarding interop. I got this though, I can't imagine how newcomers must feel, we need to improve federation dev onboarding and resources - and I hope to get back to this with https://pubkit.net after Loops is more mature! @bustikiller @jak2k @loops I've removed Sentry from Loops, we're implementing our own self-reporting bug feature that will not include any PII  Excited to experiment with A/B testing in the @loops app! This and basic/privacy friendly usage analytics will be crucial to help evolve the app and experience! Thanks to Sentry, we will have better crash/log reporting compared to the Pixelfed app. Big things on the horizon, here at PixelfedHQ ✨ Fedi, the upcoming @loops beta will be wierd It will be limited to a single client app, and server without public code. I just thought I should mention this, because it means a lot to me for you, the fediverse, to trust me and Loops! If anything, my reputation speaks for itself, and you can bet that Loops will federate, and release the source code ✨ Thanks for your trust, Loops is just getting started, and I can't wait to bring you along for the ride as we build something amazing together! I've decided to delay federation support in @loops for the first week or so. It's not a matter of implementation completion (it's ready, pic related), rather, I'm not sure how much resources I'll need to allocate to loops.video during the initial beta. The priority is onboarding and supporting the essential features, some of you will get access earlier. It's going to get wild, but in a good way 🚀

 @dansup competition is good, Mastodon is an incredibly long way from perfect, and this article talks a hell of a lot about Jack Dorsey, who basically gave them some money one time and hasn’t shown any interest in the organisation since. Even if it ends up being somewhere halfway between centralised and decentralised, so what? It’s just another platform that people can choose to use if they want to. It’s mostly just great to see new things being tried.   Loops.video is launching in public beta in less than 24 hours, but I want to emphasize that there will likely be hiccups during the rollout and we don't have much content, so please bear with us during this very early stage! I promise it will be worth it, and look forward to y'alls feedback during this phase! I'll have more updates soon.

It says that my username and email is already in use. @dansup will everyone need to make a new account for loops, or could I sign in with my existing pixelfed account and have the app only pull videos from the people I already follow?  @dansup I took the liberty of reworking a bit what you'd done to make it more consistent. I hope it helps improve the product! The CEO of a well established company reached out to me regarding adding their project to https://fedidb.org, and I was able to provide them with the implementation details they need to allow FediDB to crawl and ingest their stats. Once complete, this will boost the total fediverse MAU/statuses/users count quite a bit! The fediverse keeps growing 🚀 Received an interesting bug report regarding the Pixelfed photo filters in the webUI. The JS logic we employ can be abused for privacy reasons, and this user is using a browser that mitigates this, leading to long waits. I know Pixelfed like the back of my hand, so that's why I asked which browser they are using, and of course, that is the real cause behind this issue!

@dansup What kind of code are you using for filtering that it gets mitigated by the browser 🤔  @dansup You could probably display a pop-up if applying the filter takes more than 5 or 10 seconds, with text like: > It seems that applying the filter takes longer than expected. Your browser may be limiting access to this API for privacy reasons. <Learn more...> Built a primitive loops.video admin dashboard to easily manage the platform as we prepare for the public beta launch!  @dansup I don't record videos, even small ones, often, but I am getting pure pleasure watching you develop loops. I wish you great success. I used to do some vines, so, who knows what is in store. You may get my ugly mug in the fediverse, at least in short form, in the near future when it gets released.     @dansup I registered when you thought you would be able to start letting us abuse it for testing.
