I'll be reaching out to trusted and well established fediverse admins with an offer to host a beta @loops server, so we can debug any federation or other issues, in the next few weeks! This isn't an invitation to request access btw, and as much as I know how everyone is excited, I have a lot of tasks to finish before this is ready for everyone. While https://loops.video will be the flagship, I want to establish other trusted servers operated by entities that are well established already! It's a huge relief on my part to be building @loops this way. I'm building the backend MVP using my experience with Laravel and the dozen projects I've built with it. But this time, I'm doing it right, with linting, unit tests and easy setup! You will be able to setup a loops server in a few minutes using the web installer! Loops will also support 3rd party apps with extensive documentation (and tests) ✨ Btw, @loops will be open source once we reach v1.0 We have an NLnet grant that we explicitly stated will target an open source backend + mobile app that is federated. We have a huge monetary incentive to build the best federated Vine/TikTok platform, in the open, and for everyone. And that's our plan!  You can stop DM/emailing me about reserving your loops account username, the https://loops.video website will be updated later today so you can pre-register! This isn't so much of a complaint as more of a warning that you'll have to pre-register via the website! I can't keep track of username requests from DMs, emails, replies, etc. The first 700+ users that pre-registered via our Cryptpad form are the first batch and can expect an email confirming your early placement in the beta and details on how to access the beta! I'm hoping to have enough capacity to allow registrations on launch, but we'll see! There is a huge demand 😅  Y'all ready for https://loops.video? Follow me and @loops to get early access!  Just really hoping you'll focus on making it a for YOU feed, rather than a for POPULAR people feed, ie that the algo will focus on promoting videos relevant to the users interests, rather than snowballing popular accounts into even more popularity. I've been working on a new @pixelfed moderation feature called Moderated Profiles! This will allow admins to apply limits or a complete ban on specific remote profiles. You can add notes, and each action is logged in the modlog, so admins can revert or delete easily without concern! Shipping this weekend!  @dansup could I ask you for your thoughts on the weight of video hosting and the gatekeeping effect it has onto instances that are tighter on resources. I see this as a glass ceiling for anyone hosting PeerTube, and if PixelFed goes in that direction, I'm afraid that users would not be aware that uploading videos is very costly to the platform. Probably loops.video is an attempt to do this better, but I don´t know about it.  Sent my public #Pixelfed profile to my sister the other day. "Ohhh, what is this, is this like a social media where they don't track you? Because I am so tempted to give up Instagram. This is so cute!" Unlike some social apps, Pixelfed isn't worried about Apple's changes to contact-sharing permissions. We don't rely on invasive data practices — our growth is built on privacy, community, and creativity, not your contacts. 📷✨

 @Gargron I see it is made by “ethical toy program” but if I look at that website, the questions I have are not easily answered. So I ask them here: is this toy made in China? Society peaked in 2003 with RalliSport Challenge on Xbox and Linkin Park Live in Texas. Best Christmas Ever. Internet was optional.

@dansup It's all been downhill since I traded my OG Xbox in at GameStop for credits towards a 360. Rallisport Challenge wasn't backwards compatible so I traded that off too 😭. Some ragrets |
