Iβm going to quickly fix the graphs on https://fedidb.org, they are not updating properly giving the impression activity is falling when it clearly isnβt  Might need to get a bigger server for pixelfed.social, its sucking up ram like its chrome π

"oh dan, what if someone uses this on every pixelfed instance" I got that covered Admins will be able to take advantage of an optional feature that checks against a central list of webfinger accounts with an incremented count, so you can limit this to 3 uses across all :pixelfed: instances π

 @dansup This is hilarous as what is their intellectual property? What's so unique about Twitter and Microblogging? Interestingly, the average users per instance range from 300 to 700 for the top 4 platforms So while flagship instances may represent a high number of users, overall the average is healthy data from https://fedidb.org I will be surprised if threads.net rolls out nodeinfo support, might have to manually track stats based on whatever stats they release publicly  @dansup That's an interesting point. I guess a more corporate project would be wary of exposing numbers like that. I think we sometimes take for granted the data the existing fediverse projects provide π€ How https://fedidb.org/network will look once threads.net enables ActivityPub support! π #threads

@dansup @pixelfed That is how I expected federation to have worked. At two jobs ago, we had to support federated accounts logging into our applications. That meant the user's work account at another company was used for login, not an account within our application itself. Here I figured you would created a federated login somewhere, and be able to use it to log in anywhere else that supported that federation.

@dansup I would also like to test it but I can not install the app even via VPN - is probably still the German store and because of subscriptions I can not change the location.  |
@dansup Iβm new to #pixelfed. Considering that there isnβt an algorithm, is there a way to follow/block specific tags for better customization?
