I don’t understand why banks have a little terrible inbox in their web apps. They send me an email that says “There’s a message waiting for you in your Wells Fargo inbox”. You literally just sent me a message to the inbox I actually use.

 @samhenrigold when I was buying my house, my bank had a whole separate website just specifically for sending messages related to mortgages. It had an entirely different login on its own domain. it was just an inbox.  @samhenrigold just remembered i had a fun one of these recently: i closed out a bank account, and then the bank sends me an email saying there’s a message in my inbox… i go to log in to the bank to see the message (presumably confirming the closed account), but because i no longer have an open bank account, they wont let me log in. i have no way to read their message! office-bedroom update: i think we’re kinda cooking?? i still think i can do better with the armchair placement (accent pillow on it?) also the plant game is still weak, the fake floor one needs to be replaced with a bigger floor plant. still trying to source planters to run across the cabinet.

In case you're curious, I've checked the implementation for icon segmentation in iOS 18 to see how they're generating the dark icons. There's no ML/AI involved, it's all just clever math. IconServices extracts the foreground and determines whether it should be tinted with the background color or left as-is, and there are configurable thresholds for when the results are not acceptable, which is when it falls back to just darkening the icon. Looks like it uses ARM Neon instructions for speed

  I think it is super cool that #Mastodon "tells" on admins when they take actions that affect users of their instances. As someone who hasn't had even just a single moment of anything resembling normal life since 2020... yes. But thinking of it, there has to be an even worse timeline where there's been a nuclear war. a lot of people are saying to take reports with a grain of salt as we learn new information rapidly. that is un-american. what i’m suggesting is that EVERYBODY FREAK THE FUCK OUT. LOOT YOUR LOCAL WALMART. SET TRASHCANS ON FIRE AND HAVE A BBQ OVER IT. @samhenrigold devil’s avocado here, Larry. I think people should freak their geek out! Withdraw all your money and hide it. It’ll be the 1970’s all over again. People will get mean, the streets won’t be safe, it’ll be graffiti everywhere, and the movies will only cost $3.  @samhenrigold to paraphrase the name of a Facebook tag group -- Look, I like cum as much as the next person but that is way too much cum  alright, my bedroom is also my office and i don’t like feeling like it’s the same room, so i bought this ikea shelf as a room divider. i now have to fill it with stuff. i’m open to suggestions. books, design stuff, tech, plants, idk i do not have a budget as i am bad with money.
