Go nuts! flip cameras were a huge thing for roughly two years and then we all purged our collective memory of them right after. crazy I had to google what these were. We never had anything like them but, between analog tech and acceptable phone cameras, seemingly everyone had one of those point and shoot digital cameras that could also record rather crappy videos. ever see food marketing photos that look awful? if the staged pics are that bad, imagine how terrible the real thing must be. https://www.blimpie.com/menu/limitedtimeoffers/macandcheesepulledpork/ STOMACH SLEEPING IS BAD FOR YOUR BACK. SIDE SLEEPING IS BAD FOR YOUR FACE. YOU MUST SLEEP FACING STRAIGHT UP. DO NOT MOVE AT ALL. i am intimidated by third grade me. he made fake operating systems in Keynote using single-cell tables with formulas for dynamic values and inter-slide hyperlinks. his power knows no bounds. @samhenrigold oh my god, I made the exact same things. I was fascinated with ATM interfaces and built several of them in Powerpoint For some reason, most #Config2024 sessions are unlisted on YouTube. Playlist with all of them: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXDU_eVOJTx402DljIPagaDKLibF-qfF0 so glad i’m back in NYC and seeing billboards for cable providers and injury attorneys. seeing git commands on a billboard felt against the natural order of things. shortie caught me browsing the internet archive travel posters collection again smh https://archive.org/details/digitaltransportation_posters You see the point of this a lot in API design, where a company is like "okay we made an API but we limited it a bunch because we are scared about cheaters/bots/scrapers/whatever", while the things they limit are things a user clicking links can do in 2 seconds. @foone there is, of course, issues with the fact that a lot of people on the other side of the equation know about API 0. I remember when twitter started making The Changes, they also got REALLY strict with automation detection to the point where it was dinging the average user because it seemed like they MIGHT be trying to bypass the lack of an API if I had a lot more time I think I might write a book on my ideas about "adversarial automation". The idea that the point of computers is to help the humans do their job faster and easier, and sometimes the computer or the software on it is the enemy in that battle. because I see a lot of people approaching automation from this attitude of "software/sites should have APIs so that users can write software to automate it!" We do not ask for access. We don't need to get permission to be able to automate our tasks. I’m at #Config2024 all week! Come say hi — I have a giant, goofy box of stickers & pins with a sneak peek of the all-new @lickability branding 🤫 obligatory “i am at config, please say hi” post. i am shy but i like meeting people & i have stickers and pins to give out. |
