@gamingonlinux
Unprofessional behaviour for sure.

"3 tweets, 2 Instagram posts, and 2 TikToks minimum per day"
Sounds normal for a half way successful influencer.

@gamingonlinux it’s a place where tech bros go to feel smart so yes it’s hell, fuck that place and site.

@gamingonlinux now I like ow2 decent enough but my god it’s so funny that it got a 9% positive last I checked on steam. blizzard deserves the reviewbombing for all the shit they pulled.

@gamingonlinux вы думали мы забыли, вы думали мы простили?

@gamingonlinux I've seen that damn 1 Crit Failure a surprising amount in my travels in the game.

The only thing Windows 11 is good for: downloading Linux. End.

@gamingonlinux Not even. Just bought a laptop and when the windows setup asked for microsoft account, unavoidable without doing some trickery I didn't want to deal with, I just powered it off and use old one to download linux it instead.

@gamingonlinux
Can I barge in with a newb question? .
I got mint some time ago on a recovered laptop. Loved it, fast AF.
I tried to reload in on a new laptop and the whole checksum thing jacked me up. Is there a good step by step thing. I followed all the shit on the mint pages but still ended up in a torrent of profanity, that as far as I know is still hanging in the air over the Salish Sea

@gamingonlinux I always rename the shortcut for Edge, "Chrome downloader" even though I don't use Chrome

Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

If “save scumming” isn’t a thing we’re supposed to do then take away my save slots 🤷‍♂️

Pfft, i will reload whenever I want. Anyone who argues otherwise on how to play games is a tool trying to suck away your fun. Ignore ‘em.

@gamingonlinux I'm in agreement that you should play a game how ever you like, as someone that uses save states to complete a lot of emulated games where the extreme difficulty was left over from arcades and the like.

That said, sometimes to keep some level of tension I make special rules for myself for when I'm allowed to save. Like "Only at health stations" or "Only at beds" depending on the game.

@gamingonlinux Some people think they need to tell other people how to enjoy things properly or their form of enjoying things is somehow invalid.

cloud_ctrl

@gamingonlinux There's absolutely nothing wrong with save scumming. Nobody should criticize trivial things like that.

I've been save scumming my whole life, but lately I've been enjoying holding myself accountable for my decisions and performance. Everything that happens in the game feels like it carries more significance, and I'm having fun experiencing the pathos of narratives gone awry.

It depends on the game tho. I still scum on games I care less about.

Seeing all the videos of crazy shit people keep doing in Baldur’s Gate 3 makes me feel like such a totally dumb vanilla gamer 😅

@gamingonlinux I feel the same way with Tears of the Kingdom 😅

@gamingonlinux there is no wrong way to play a video game, unless you're not enjoying yourself, then it may be wrong :)

Carbonara

@gamingonlinux I’m always underleveled, so I must do every possible shit the game allows me to do

Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

So much trash gets ranked up on Google now.

From a Steam Deck game guide, step 1 is "make sure the deck is running Windows"...the rest of the instructions are clearly about running it through Proton (so SteamOS).

@gamingonlinux We have reached the era of true content farms. One person writes some comment on reddit or a random forum, some bot ingests the entire forum, groups similar sounding stuff together along with all of the other garbage it ground up, and then it gets regurgitated en masse on to a pre-SEO'd platform facade with a random author name generated and attached.

@gamingonlinux well deserved! :D

I absolutely loved first overwatch, but 2nd feels like an attempt to predatory monetise a corpse of former game

fingerless

@gamingonlinux one of those games like League, DOTA, Destiny and CoD where they're monstrously popular but whenever you encounter people talking about it it's nothing but complaints

@gamingonlinux thank goodness, my cluster of steamdecks that I run multiple VMs on for multiple clients was leaking instructions between them!

Security nightmare!

🤷🤦

@gamingonlinux Who is that Ray Tracing and why should he be faster? ;-) ...

@gamingonlinux I'm curious if this ends up affecting jitter or introducing weird pauses when the compilation finally kicks in?

young man yells at the cloud

@gamingonlinux So if I understand correctly, native Linux means a version that just runs on Linux as-is with dependencies, whereas a proton version is just making sure their Windows version runs well with proton? Isn't the first preferable?

lbcp 🦖 :opensuse:

@gamingonlinux Am I the only one who thinks that this is pretty embarrassing for Unity?

Player2alpha 🧑‍💻🧌

@gamingonlinux well, in the end I only care about being able to play games decently well on linux. I'd rather get a proton version instead of a not tested, never updates native linux version. Guess I'm just pragmatic like that.

@gamingonlinux Wish there was a high quality Theme Park OpenSource Implementation, too.

@gamingonlinux Will we be able to kill shoot the mouses ?

@gamingonlinux I’m so happy to see this. I recently re-bought the game on GOG (they are doing wonderful work) but seeing open source theme hospital is the best thing. The game is a classic
