@Tutanota I mainly use it on Android + Webmail(Firefox). Android UI has improved a lot in last few months but it still needs some work to catch up. I have few recommendations :- ๐โ๏ธ Delighted to say that Tuta Mail protects you against โHarvest Now, Decrypt Laterโ attacks. @Tutanota @ErikJonker definitely a great step for privacy, but is it implementable? e.g. if iOS deletes cookies/cache/storage every 3 days (it does), then where do you store the encryption keys? if you store them on the server, then iโm not sure why e2e encryption is advantageous With the launch of our new post-quantum #encryption your data will now be safe from "Harvest Now, Decrypt Later" tactics. ๐จโ๐พ๐ Find out all the ways the #NSA can get at your data and how Tuta Mail protects you! ๐ https://tuta.com/blog/post-quantum-cryptography This approach is often taken by government agencies like the NSA or #FBI in order to decrypt encrypted messages once the #technology is available. ๐ต๏ธ

@Tutanota but my data is still vulnerable against simple plain old MitM as described here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38175307 And you do nothing to fix it for years! @Tutanota Still gotten a vpn and I will encrypt traffic between my devices and โfree wifiโ with a travel router. Apple is showing flagrant disregard for the EU #DigitalMarketsAct. ๐ช๐บ Their reluctant allowance of third-party app stores, #sideloading, & alternative payments is nothing more than an act of #malicious compliance by #apple ๐ ๐ https://tuta.com/blog/apple-eu-dma-malicious-compliance @Tutanota I've recently read that Apple is not private and their own lawyers are calling anyone fools for thinking otherwise @Tutanota What's the deal with people still backing Apple? Seriously, this App Store rule change is downright appalling, especially for developers who've invested their passion and life savings into creating amazing apps. It's a major middle finger to them. This makes me want to switch to Android at this point. Good thing the #Apple App Store is secure, it would be a shame if the #DigitalMarketsAct allowed alternative platforms to set up shop and start pushing fake software to #iOS devices... Oh wait ๐ https://arstechnica.com/security/2024/02/a-password-manager-lastpass-calls-fraudulent-booted-from-app-store/ The new #Outlook is good... for 766 third parties that track you. @Tutanota weird to just copy the exact phrasing of a successful toot for your own promotion. (The original toot: https://godforsaken.website/@Shrigglepuss/111482466182637440) @Tutanota it is getting crazier and crazier! I love NextDNS and the integrated filter lists. Tracking, Adv., Mailware etc. are blocked on a dns level. 10% of my DNS requests are blocked by it. ๐ข BREAKING ๐ข Historic agreement on #chatcontrol proposal: EU Parliament wants to remove chat control and safeguard secure encryption. ๐ ๐ชLet's keep pushing for strong privacy rights!๐

@Tutanota YES! I feel like I see more and more sensible decision from the EU on technological issues these last few years. That is truly heartening. It's #GlobalEncryptionDay! Time to remind everyone that a backdoor "for the good guys only" is simply not possible. By demanding encryption backdoors, politicians are not asking us to choose between security and privacy. They are asking us to choose no security. ๐ https://tutanota.com/blog/posts/why-a-backdoor-is-a-security-risk

@Tutanota What's the image? The alt text just continues the post @Tutanota This cartoon is clever, but it presumes the FBI isn't also the hackers (for example FBI agents using surveillance tools to check out prospective dates, family, etc.) and the repressive regime โก๏ธ BREAKING โก๏ธ Today's vote on #chatcontrol has been postponed a second time! EU countries can't find a compromise for chat control - and the EU Parliament is not even involved, yet. This is a great sign that #chatcontrol - one of the most criticized EU laws ever - will fail. Read more: ๐ @Tutanota It's quite obvious what their "endgame" is, but isn't there a limit how often they can postpone this? I mean legally? Sometimes it can be a struggle, but helping friends and family adopt better online privacy practices makes everyone more secure! ๐ช ๐

@Tutanota The biggest challenge is when they say, โWhy? I have nothing to hide.โ and having to convince them privacy matters. My grandmother didnโt even trust cable television back in the day because she thought the government was listening. ๐ I know if she was still alive today, sheโd be on board with me in keeping everyone private and secure. @Tutanota I can't wait for multifactor authentication in EVERY web-service in the Internet! ๐ โ ๏ธ Urgent: Update Tutanota now to not be affected by the latest Chrome vuln: CVE-2023-4863.
