@LuigiEsq @infernusgoatus @dankwraith Yeah you can see public posts, but they don't appear in your home feed until the follow request is approved -- normally. With this patch, it sounds like they go into the home feed before that.

@Gargron

Is there a reason you didnt reach out to me to ask about it?

You are correct it only allows people to see posts they already have permission to see. It would be no different than subscribing to their RSS feed which is also public.

I should point out we specifically implemented it to protect the privacy of our LGBT users who came to me in private and asked for it some time ago. Since we federate with GAB and have a significant LGBT community here many of people int he LGBT community here use it as a way to watch GAB account so if there is any danger they can relay to others, as sort of safety/surveillance net. However when they followed GAB users it would notify the GAB user and put the user at danger of retaliation. So the subscribe feature was to protect them, and their privacy.

@Gargron I resemble that. The one day I feel like I can actually get some sleep I have two back to back appointments that I really need to honor.

I just want to hop in a spaceship moving at relativistic speeds and take a nap.

@Gargron Wb. I just described the Fediverse vision to a notable collegiate librarian (for 30 minutes.) I get done and she says ,"so basically, it's an Internet just for the people, not so much the content?" "Close enough," I said :)

Devin Townsend - The Death of Music (Live at the Royal Albert Hall)

I've always had trouble showing this track to other people because it starts slow (and also because it's long). But I wouldn't change anything about it.

@Gargron I just downloaded the Transcendence album, I didn't know Devin Townsend but I like all the progressive rock. It looks good ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜‰ TYVM ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐ŸŽถ

Can someone offer advice if wall-mounted guitar holders are better or worse than guitar stands?

@Gargron Get shovel hooks that have a massive screw to mount to the wall. It leaves a giant hole but I've got all mine still hanging years after with no sagging. Saves so much space.

@Gargron You're choosing between having to make sure the guitar is upright so it doesn't topple and having to get the neck through a narrow bit to hang it.
I seriously doubt a wall hanger will damage the neck unless it's been designed weird, the guitar is super cheap or the guitar hangs there for a decade without being touched.

I guess it's also less likely to get hit by temperature or moisture changes from an open door if it's in the middle of a wall.

They started filming season 2 of #TheWitcher. I'm glad. I liked it. Mostly for the main actor.

Eugen Rochko

There's a weird dichotomy because I haven't read the books (or played the games) and I like #TheWitcher, while book readers say it's a bad adaptation. When I was watching #HisDarkMaterials, I was the book reader complaining while people who never read the books were telling me they like it.

But I'm still kind of certain #HisDarkMaterials was really bad.

@Gargron the only other thing I've seen him in was the mission impossible film.

Really good in that and in the witcher

Eric Chant

@Gargron I actually read the books AND played the games. I'm happy with the TV adaptation, more so than parts of Witcher 3 (which isn't canonical anyway). I've watched the series twice already & look forward to seeing what they've learned for the 2nd.

What do you imagine Hunter (from The Dear Hunter) looks like?

@Gargron Honestly I imagine him looking like Casey. Maybe more gaunt.

@Gargron not sure, but I know that Hunter2 looks like ******* ;)

What do you think the Oracles (from the Dear Hunter) look like? How many are there?
