There's a weird dichotomy because I haven't read the books (or played the games) and I like #TheWitcher, while book readers say it's a bad adaptation. When I was watching #HisDarkMaterials, I was the book reader complaining while people who never read the books were telling me they like it.

But I'm still kind of certain #HisDarkMaterials was really bad.

@Gargron i Just feeling the same with "the outsider". Book from King, TV séries Very differenti but Better for a Lot of details

@Gargron

I had a similar experience with the movie Constantine (2005). It's an astoundingly unfaithful adaptation of Hellblazer (I'm told) but it works really well if you treat it as it's own thing (i.e. an unrelated story that happens to share a few details with the comic.)

@Gargron ugh I was not a fan of His Dark Materials. It seemed like it only made sense if you had read the books and had an idea what was going on or why. It's kind of reassuring to hear it's not just me or the books.
