Huh, so, you know how the SSC (Superconducting Super Collider) was famously incredibly expensive?

From what I've found, it was supposed to cost 11 billion 1993 USD total at the moment when it was canceled (They've only spent 2 billion USD on it at that point). In current day US dollars, it's about 23 billion.

The Twitter deal was 44 billion USD.

You could literally build one of the most advanced pieces of hardware in particle physics almost twice for that price.

Should I buy it? Aside from the RAM and SSD (which I can easily upgrade), it seems like a pretty good deal to me, especially in this condition

@astrr if you don't need gaming (weak videocard), web browsing (weak videocard) or windows (battery hog)

@astrr I have ThinkPad E14 Gen 3 (AMD). Basic model with four-core AMD Ryzen, but still excellent keyboard, much better than on Macbook Pro that gave me my employer. Stickpoint is also great, used to it with my desktop keyboard. Took it with 8 gigs of RAM, but immediately extended it with 16 gigs module. With Linux performance is enough for all my tasks: heavy IDE, browsing, messaging.

@astrr easy, you're a clone of the real Astra that's died in the past 6 hours. Her memory was implanted into you, but it seems the process was not perfect...

shoutout to the ben gurion airport checked luggage security team, who took my carefully folded clothes, inspected them, and then threw them back into the suitcase in the most wrinkled way possible

now I look like I've just crawled out of a dumpster, thanks

oh and honorable mention to the fact that they've put my IPL thingy out of its bag and into a section of a suitcase that i didn't even know existed, so I had to look for it for like 10 minutes, wtf

@astrr this reminds me how I was 1 (one) minute late to a Moscow-SPb flight because:

1) online registration didn't work, and I had to re-register offline and then wait in a queue again
2) the security felt they need to have me pull out and power on my laptop AND my Steam Deck

had to get another ticket for the full price -_-

a few weeks ago I thought that logging this whole trip as a kinda-public-diary sounds like a fun idea, so here we go, day one.

today was A LOT. starting with me having 5 hours of sleep and not sleeping for almost 20 ghouls afterwards, not to mention the airport being blocked by protestors, and the security giving me a 5-out-of-6 danger level, it was pretty fun

tbilisi seems cool, love the high-density buildings and VERY cheap food delivery (compared to tel aviv haha)

damn I want a vivokey apex (and/or flexSecure) so bad, having a secure element in a form of a flex implantable is such a cool idea imo

thinking of installing one somewhere in the chest area (around where the heart is, but like, not as deep ofc) and keeping my important keys there

and whoever gets access to my heart (figuratively, hopefully) gets access to them haha
